Hired on Thumbtack

Hired on Thumbtack

I had a very positive experience with Low Country Bath Renewal. Michael responded to my inquiry on Thumbtack in less than an hour. I needed a sliding shower door, mirrors and bathroom accessories installed in 2 bathrooms in a condo we are remodeling. Within a day Michael had looked at the job and provided me with a bid. Within 2 more days the work was completed. The team did an excellent job with the installation and they were neat and left no mess. I highly recommend Michael and his team at Low Country Bath Renewal.

I think I received this review link a little prematurely but what the heck here goes. . Look. I don’t like spending “more money” (even if it’s my mother’s) and I was very tempted to try to call some old friends in Savannah for contractor referrals and in turn hire some “guy” to take care of my 84 year old mother’s precarious bathroom situation and save some dough but I couldn’t stop thinking about what “the guy” that she hired two years ago did to her bathroom (unbeknownst to moi) and I just couldn’t risk it again. My mother hired “some guy” to put a tub in where her beautiful walk-in shower is/was (she prefers baths to showers for whatever reason and at 84 years young had been going upstairs to use the tub.) Anyway, this guy literally scabbed a metal tub atop the tile shower pan and expected it to drain from the tub into the original shower drain. Doh! . . Newsflash: it clogged and that was the only reason I even found out the whole story when my family came up to Savannah to visit for St. Patty’s Day. “The guy” that totally ruined the existing shower ironically passed away a few weeks later (might have been his luckiest option tbh) and now in a “surrender to win” situation we were fortunate enough to happen upon Lowcountry Bath Renewal for our first appointment last month. A young man named Spenser came to the house and couldn’t have been more informative and accomodating. Give him a raise Lowcountry Bath. He’s a good egg and he definitely didn’t leave us scrambled (as in duct taped to a chair while he called his boss until we would hopefully succumb like the very next company did!) it was definitely more than my mom thought it would be but my mom also used “some guy” in a truck that kept going back to Home Depot to buy the materials he needed to ruin my mother’s shower. He could have just bought a sledgehammer to get the same effective result. She paid him $2,000 to cause $20,000 worth of damage to her house. Digression aside, Spenser put us on the right course that afternoon and even though I had to join via Facetime, he kept me engaged and question free (no minor feats) and they (the folks in the office I guess) have already called and updated my mother 3 times and she seems to be thrilled. They are starting the work next week and maybe I’m overly confident about how the installation will go but I’ve seen enough of this movie to know that no one dies in the end but hopefully they don’t want me to write another Magna Carta three times as long if this operation goes south :) I’m attaching the pictures of what “some guy” did to the shower because it really has to be seen to be believed. You could really lose yourself in the hack-hazardry of it all , especially where he tried to match the subway tile and built those two boxes to “frame-in” the tub but my favorites points of interest are how the guy set it up to make the tub fill via the shower head and how he just screwed the tub into the tiles. Yes, I tuned my mother up but good for contracting with “that guy” but she concisely flipped it back to me because she did mention wanting to put a tub downstairs and when I spaced it a few times she took matters into her own hands. Sons. . Don’t let your mommies grow up to be victims. Like I did. All joking aside. We are very much looking forward to next week Lowcountry Bath. I’m sure there are other “good” places to call but these folks have been nothing short of great and the peace of mind that my mother will be safe (and hopefully first floor bound) has been priceless to me. When the choice is between “Dough” and “Doh!” it’s an easy one at my age. We have no doubt about our decision to hire on Lowcountry Bath. Thank you Spenser and crew!

We can’t say enough good things about this company. They were so easy to work with from start to finish. They listened to all of our ideas, needs and wants and were able to put together an absolutely beautiful bathroom for us! I highly recommend giving them a call! We’re already thinking about doing the other bath now!
