Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. My most common types of jobs....there is NOTHING common about photography!!! That is why I love it SO much! You can photograph 10 newborns and each one is so vastly different. Same as weddings and children. No two are alike and none of them are any sort of common to one another! I suppose if I had to choose something to incorporate the word 'common' it would be on location photography. All my photography is done on location, I don't use a stuido, I will not say 'Sit there and smile now or say cheese' I want to capture the most natural you and your family.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. The best advice or 'key word' I could give to a furture client looking to hire me for photos to be taken, whatever the occasion, is promptness. I strive to ensure that I prompty respond to emails, voicemails and phone calls. First impression is everything and if I can't even prompty respond than how would you feel as a client with my professionalism and to trust the end product. I want you to feel comfortable with me as your photographer and I believe promptness is a great way to make sure you do!
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. I would like to know about the clients they have had before! I think customer feedback is very important. I believe that if I were the customer and a photographer had amazing work and negative customer feedback I would think that I would not want to work with them. If a photographer had good work and an amazing amount of positive feedback from customers I would be more apt to work with them, trusting them with my children and making it a less stressful experience would be a must for me. I want to have fun, it shouldn't be a bad experience!
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. For myself as your photographer, I want to know what you see envisioned. If you have something specific you want captures, make it aware to me so I make sure to get it! If I don't know, I will photograph freely, and although I will manage to capture everything you like, I want you to LOVE the photos of what YOU want captured! If you want your photos on the beach or in a park, let me know! Communication is a big key with my clients. I am up for anything so if you want a crazy photo, I will get it! I want you to be just as involved as I am in your photography session!
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. My photography stands out because you will not get your basic portrait photos. I like to be creative with what I use as props and how I transform simple photos into amazing memories. I promise you, you will not be disappointed.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I love meeting new people! I love that every day on my job is a great day because everyone is happy! Happy people are happy photos! I am capturing their memories along with their history. It is something that can never be done again, because once the day is done it is gone and unless you captured it how will you remember it?!
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. Most commonly I get asked do you give out a CD and will it be have a copyright on it. My answer, yes, I do give you a CD with edited and retouched images on the CD. There will be no copyrights on them so you can print them off or put them on whatever internet site you would like.
It seems to go over very well with clients that they feel they 'own' their own pictures of their children and themselves. I like knowing that they get to choose what they would like to use the photos for.
Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?
A. I am not sure I have a FAVORITE story! They are all amazing in their own ways! I have been touched by each of my clients and I have loved working with them every minute. I always hate when photo shoots are done because by the end I feel like I have known them my whole life! I seem to make lots of friends out of my clients and I couldn't ask for anything better as my favorite story, to be able to call all my clients friends! I feel truly blessed with what I do and who I get to work with!
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. I would love all my clients to know that I am a very family driven person! I LOVE families, anything and everything to do with them! I am a Mother to an 11 month old little boy and expecting our second child in September. My husband is an amazing man and my best friend. I strive to be a good person daily and God is forefront in my life. I believe all good things come to those who wait and I am the biggest opptomist! A smile is worth more than anyone knows! So bring those smiles to me to photography them for you!
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. I get asked this question a lot! I have always had a camera in my hand growing up. I hated to have my photo taken so I took all the photos. It turned into a passion to capture unique things. It just continued from there. I love love love what I do. I wouldn't change it for any other job. To be able to make lasting memories for families is the best feeling to me! Some photos I will look at 100 times after I take them and just say wow, I did that. I have never been prouder in my life!
Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.
A. I honestly can say I have no one job I am more proud of than the next. Every time I upload my photos to look back through my work I am proud. I feel like every photo shoot is so different, every smile captures, every tear cried and every kiss felt can't be said that one should make me more proud than the other. I feel blessed with my job and I have never been more proud of myself with my profession. Each and every session brings something bright and new and the mark that I get to leave on people makes me smile!
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. Yes! I do LOTS of research of my equipment and also of others work. I love to see what others capture and how they do so. I think that every photographer has their own special way of telling your story, you can learn so much just by watching someone else. I also attend photography workshops in the area. You can never learn too much and there is always something else to know so keeping up with 'the times' in photography is a must! I love to pick other photographers' brains about their work and how they capture their images!
Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?
A. It seems photography, along with any technoligy is ever changing day by day, year by year and certainly decade by decade. It has changed so much just in the past 10 years so there is no doubt in my mind that someone will develop something more advanced than what is already out there for professional photography equipment use. I will be waiting on the edge of my seat and I am always open to the new and greatest ideas and things to come out on the market! I am sure it already in the works!
Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.
A. My most recent photo shoot was yesterday morning. It was for a little girl named Madyson! She was 8 months old and just a precious doll! We did some spring photos of her that turned out wonderful! She was full of expression and such a charmer in front of the camera. The photo shoot was at Azalea Park in Summerville and lasted almost 2 hours. Her Mom and I with her had a blast and they grabbed a livingsocial.com coupon deal that I had ran the week before so they only had to pay $55 for my traditional $120 session!

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?
A. I would say to be patient. You do not become a professional at anything over night. It takes patience and practice, practice, practice! You must also get to know your equipment! Your should learn your camera like you learned how to ride a bike or drive. Practice, try new things, if you fail get back up and try it again, maybe a different way, but keep trying! The best advice I could give would be to look at other photographers work as well. The more you see the more you will get an idea of the photographer YOU want to be. Every photographer is different! You have to find out who you want to be and you have to be it!
Q. Write your own question and answer it.
A. A question I get asked a lot is...what should we wear?!
My answer to you, is whatever you want! Seriously! I want you to have fun and be comfortable but remember these are YOUR photos! Make them look like you or the way you want to be looked at! If you want your family in matching colors or all your kids in matching outfits great! If you want them all to pick out their own outfit because they do everyday...great too! I like to stear away from too much white, just because the light can sometimes reflect strange off it, but that doesn't mean you can't wear white! If you want to dress up really nice I want you too also! If you want to wear jeans and a tee shirt because that is who you are then please do! Have fun, and be YOU!
