Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Coming from an advertising and commercial background, I think my work usually stands out from others' work because I try to make couples look like them by allowing them to be themselves. No awkward posing from me; I believe real interaction is key in making a believable image. I'd love to say taking photos is the best part of my job but honestly it's meeting new couples at perhaps the most exciting time of their lives. I also love the energy that comes with bringing old and new friends together at a ceremony or reception...that environment can make my job a lot easier and extremely fun.

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

My average wedding is probably 6-8 hours. Since so many couples travel from all over the country to Charleston, I may or may not have a chance to photograph them before the day of the wedding but many locals enjoy bridals or engagement photos as well. I also work in Charleston and the east coast as a commercial photographer and take stylized portraits from time to time which helps keep my weddings fresh and current. Check out my website fstoppers.com for the biggest project I'm currently involved in, behind the scenes videos of photo shoots. It's a lot of fun!

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

My first advice to hiring a photographer is you have to love their work and their prices must fit your budget. But honestly the most important thing having been in my friends' weddings and shooting over 100 weddings is you must enjoy the personality of your photographer first and foremost. Too many of my friends have told me that the images are cool but their own photographer was a bit strange and hard to work with. I'm not married yet but I think I'd rather have a photographer who jives with my own friends and guests over someone who just acts all paparazzi :)
