- What types of customers have you worked with?
Our main business is daily office cleaning. We do offer cleaning services for vacant apartments and vacant homes as well. We also offer home repairs, such as painting, drywall repair, handyman services, etc for clients looking to sell their house or clients who have just purchased a home and want to customize it. We generally stay within 50 miles of Columba, but have traveled statewide depending on the client and the size and scope of the job. This year, we have traveled to Lancaster, Chester, Greenwood, Mt. Pleasant, Adam's Run, and Charleston on a wide varitey of repair jobs.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
DO YOUR HOMEWORK! Most cleaning companies hire minimum-wage employees with no experience and attempt to train them in your business. They use techniques like showing new employees videos to train them. Ask your cleaning service who is working in your building. Do they have a SLED check? What is their experience level? We SLED check all of our employees and verify references before hiring any new employees. We require a minimum of 5 years commercial cleaning experience in order to work for our janitorial division. All of our current employees have at least 10 years commercial cleaning experience. We have not lost a single commercial cleaning account in over 10 years!
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Most large companies spend lots of money on advertising and salespeople. In order to make a profit, they can only afford to hire minimum wage employees. These employees typically have little experience and training in office cleaning. They typically set off alarms, leave doors unlocked, throw away important papers, and forget to do basic cleaning services. Small companies, on the other hand, are normally owner-operated. They have very small marketing and sales budgets, but lack the ability to react quickly to customer requests. Many times the employees, if any, are related to the owner. Palmetto Commercial Services is a medium-sized company that employs only industry professionals with at least 5 years experience. We understand the customers needs and fulfill those needs every time.
