About Doggie-Doos Mobile Grooming

hired 28 times on Thumbtack

We offer mobile dog grooming for the Horry County, South Carolina area. We are a family-owned and operated business, and we offer over 28 years of dog grooming experience. We can't do dogs over 60lbs at this time, sorry!

We are so excited to now offer PlaqClnz which is a wonderful oral cleaning without the anesthesia and high costs. It helps with bad breath, plaque and tooth decay. Ask us for more information!!

Because we are mobile, we come to your home or office which is more convenient for you and a lot less stressful for your dog. Most grooming services take an hour, and then your dog is happy, back in the house and stress free.

Give us a try!

Marilyn does awesome work! Worked well with my 14 year old very mean grumpy maltese! Loves the animals, even the mean ones, and makes the grooming experiences less stressful for them! Unfortunately my old guy (Joey) has passed, but am looking forward to my puppy getting her first groom with doggie doos! (Even on a mean dog the haircut was flawless)

Absolutely LOVE Marilyn, my sweet dog fell in love with her and he was so handsome when she finished. This was his first time with them and I booked for 6 more months. Marilyn cared for him as she would her own.

I have a sweet little Maltese. Her hair had gotten way to long and we were fighting mats. They took care of her and did a great job. I was so thankful for their help. We will be calling them again.

Marilyn & Steve were wonderful with our cocker & miniature schnauzer. Our schnauzer has had problems before with groomers cutting her tongue because she's lost so many teeth & as she's licking they have nicked her. Marilyn and Steve took extreme care with both our dogs and they looked beautiful. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Marilyn and Steve were great people. They treated my Dog like a queen and did an excellent job with her. I will use them again and again for Balou. Their great personalities greatly enhance the terrific job they do with the dog. Very reasonable pricing, on time, and thorough. Can't say enough good things.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. We provide professional dog grooming but we are mobile so we take our mobile grooming salon to the customers home or office. We provide a stress free visit for the furry member of the family!!

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. make sure they have experience. Some groomers think that them washing and cutting their own dog, makes them a dog groomer. I have been grooming 29 years and truly it took 5 years of experience before I was really good

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. I am 110% animal lover. You have to be to choose dog grooming as your career. Unfortunately not all groomers have the patience, but I do and have for more than 29 years!

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. We offer a grooming experience that is stress free on the pet. We don't put them in cages, we don't even have cages. We give them one on one attention from the time we bring them out the door until we take them back in to the customers. Most importantly, Marilyn has been grooming since 1985. We also now offer Plaqclnz which is an anesthesia free oral cleaning to remove plaque, gum disease and bad breath!!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love everything about my job. I get to meet great people, I get to play with their dogs, pamper them and make them happy!

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Our Prices. Our prices are very reasonable. It really depends on the breed of dog, but we are a little higher than a typical grooming shop, because we go to the customers homes, so we are spending our gas, but saving the customer time and gas.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. people think our prices are a bit too high but we go to them. That means they don't have to make a trip to the groomer to drop the dog off, their dog doesn't have to sit in a crate all day listening to other dogs barking and wondering whats going on and then you don't have to make another trip back to the groomer to pick your dog up. We cost a little more because we save you gas and mostly because of the convenience. We are always going to cost more than a typical salon

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I have always been an animal lover and always wanted to work with animals in some capacity

Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.

A. PlaqClnz which is a new anesthesia free oral cleaning we now provide right at your home or office! Can be completed with grooming or separately. An oral cleaning costs $25.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Plan on taking 6-12 months to really learn everything and then another 5 years or so until you are a great groomer! It doesn't happen overnight.

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. My greatest strength is that I have 29 years of grooming experience. A lot of groomers these days come right out of school and think they can groom well, while some can, it honestly took me 10-15 years to become a great groomer! School can only teach you so much, but experience is where you really learn how to groom!
