Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. We provide professional dog grooming but we are mobile so we take our mobile grooming salon to the customers home or office. We provide a stress free visit for the furry member of the family!!
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. make sure they have experience. Some groomers think that them washing and cutting their own dog, makes them a dog groomer. I have been grooming 29 years and truly it took 5 years of experience before I was really good
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. I am 110% animal lover. You have to be to choose dog grooming as your career. Unfortunately not all groomers have the patience, but I do and have for more than 29 years!
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. We offer a grooming experience that is stress free on the pet. We don't put them in cages, we don't even have cages. We give them one on one attention from the time we bring them out the door until we take them back in to the customers. Most importantly, Marilyn has been grooming since 1985. We also now offer Plaqclnz which is an anesthesia free oral cleaning to remove plaque, gum disease and bad breath!!
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I love everything about my job. I get to meet great people, I get to play with their dogs, pamper them and make them happy!
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. Our Prices. Our prices are very reasonable. It really depends on the breed of dog, but we are a little higher than a typical grooming shop, because we go to the customers homes, so we are spending our gas, but saving the customer time and gas.
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. people think our prices are a bit too high but we go to them. That means they don't have to make a trip to the groomer to drop the dog off, their dog doesn't have to sit in a crate all day listening to other dogs barking and wondering whats going on and then you don't have to make another trip back to the groomer to pick your dog up. We cost a little more because we save you gas and mostly because of the convenience. We are always going to cost more than a typical salon
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. I have always been an animal lover and always wanted to work with animals in some capacity
Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.
A. PlaqClnz which is a new anesthesia free oral cleaning we now provide right at your home or office! Can be completed with grooming or separately. An oral cleaning costs $25.
Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?
A. Plan on taking 6-12 months to really learn everything and then another 5 years or so until you are a great groomer! It doesn't happen overnight.
Q. What is your greatest strength?
A. My greatest strength is that I have 29 years of grooming experience. A lot of groomers these days come right out of school and think they can groom well, while some can, it honestly took me 10-15 years to become a great groomer! School can only teach you so much, but experience is where you really learn how to groom!
