- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I always enjoyed working with my hands and the satisfaction of seeing the new beauty of what I've accomplished. I was 23 years old and stuck in a dead end minimum wage job. The opportunity was presented to me learn and get on the job experience by one of my best friends. I took the bull by the horns and ran with it, paid very close attention, 28 years later here I am doing what I enjoy.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
That experience means everything. Length of time in profession doesn't come by being a fly by night. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions. Anyone worth their salt will take whatever time necessary to answer them. If they can't take the time to make you comfortable and confident in their abilities they probably don't care about anything but taking your money.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
That my main concern is there total satisfaction and that flooring installations are a lot more complicated than the average person thinks. That I really enjoy what I do and the opportunity it gives me to interact with people of many different kinds. It really has given me a better understanding of the differences we all have in this world we all share.
