Question and answer
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Ask just how the paint will be applied and who will do it?
Ask how long the painter has been painting.
Ask if they will need anything moved before they start the job.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. We do not paint a job fast so we give the customer a quality job for a far price. We do not spray and go. We brush and or roll most exterior surfaces. We take our time and get the job done right the first time.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. Meeting people and the satisfaction of doing a great job for everyone. There are times we would like to rush a job but we try not to.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. Have you been painting long? Yes over 30 years!
Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?
A. Well a very long time ago I was spraying Kilz in a fire job. I had used paint thinner on a rag for something. I was in a hurry and not thinking and I put rag in my back pocket. A little while later I thought I was being stung by a bee! I soon knew what was going on. It burt me pretty good. I never did that again!
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. That we are not all drinkers.
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. I kind of fell into it. My best friend had me help him on some small jobs next thing I knew he was not painting but I still was painting for him. And did until he lost his business of 30 plus years in 2008.
Q. What are your most common types of jobs?
A. Painting and presssure washing.
Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.
A. The one I think that showed the most improvement was Sam and Sarah Quatroochi's home we did in early spring 2010.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. I do a lot of research about painting products and techniques online. I also read trade magazines.
Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.
A. One of our most recent jobs was to build a conference room in the office where my wife works. We built 2 walls to create the room. The building is over 100 years old and the floor and ceiling were both out of level but I think it turned out nice. We keep our walls and doors plumb and square but we had no control over the old building itself!
Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?
A. I would not do it right now! I do not have a choice.
Q. Write your own question and answer it.
A. When should I get the exterior of my home painted? You should not wait until it starts to peel. It will cost you a lot more money. You should do it every 6 or 7 years. By that time you are sick of the color anyhow. But you should also check for problems every spring and do any need touch ups to the caulk and paint.
Q. Write your own question and answer it.
A. How long have you been painting Scott?
Well I started painting for Dowlen Concruction in 1983 and I did some part time before that. So I guess it is safe to say I have been painting for over 27 years!

The testimonials that are being written here are not just fabrications about these guys. Scott and Paul are a couple of the best and most honest Professional painters in the buisness today and have painted hundreds of homes in and around Hamilton County. I should know, I worked with them for ten years. Very Professional and know how to get the job done right. Proud to have been a co worker and friend. Best of Luck Guys.

Martin Brothers Painting painted the exterior of our one story ranch in the spring of 2010. They were very detail oriented and went the extra mile during their prep time before painting. This made a huge difference in the look of our wood siding, which likely hadn't been painted for 10-15 years. They also sealed our gutters and replaced soffits. What once looked like a worn and tired house now looks like a little cottage - the curb appeal of our home is much improved, and the value has surely increased as well. Scott and Paul took approximately 10 days to complete the work on our home, but they charged a fair price and it was definitely worth the wait! We would definitely recommend them!

I requested several estimates for painting my house. Martin Bros Painting was not the least expensive, but I liked their attitude during the estimate review. I emailed Scott during my deliberations and we discussed a few details I would liked done during the job. He was very cooperative.
The painting job that was done on my home by Martin Bros was according to my specifications and I am very satisfied with the final results. In my career I evaluate contractors regularly and I would give them a 9.9 out of 10. I would recommend Martin Bros to my friends and family. Excellent work and completed the project in a timely manner.
