You may be suprised at how often the one who is pricing the job is not a contractor but a salesman. I would also suggest asking for a copy of General Liability and Workers Compensation Insurance Certificates. A homeowner or business should not let anyone perform work on the property without verifying this information is current and up to date. You may be suprised at how often someone may claim to be insured when they are not. General Liability and Workers Compensation Insurance coverages are very costly to a company, but they are a must for the clients to have peace of mind that any injuries will not fall onto there own policies.
