JK Design Graphic Communications produces sharp insightful graphic design and advertising for clients who understand that reaching customers is about engaging them.

Through successfully memorable branding and identity creation, expertly designed print collateral, and top-shelf web site production, JK Design | Graphic Communications helps clients communicate to the world visually in ways that get people to stop and notice, and that is the bottom line - "stop and notice".

People are bombarded by literally thousands of visual messages each day. We've learned to tune out and ignore a lot of these messages based simply on whether the messages are visually tailored to reach us specifically, or sadly, just not designed at all.

JK Design Graphic Communications cuts through the visual clutter and delivers client messages to desired audiences consistently, and that is the right way to spend your advertising budget.

For communications that shine, trust JK Design.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. JK Design | Graphic Communications is not placed in the market to provide the cheapest solution, just the best.

Hire the best visual communications professional for you, but bear in mind you DO get what you pay for. If you want something that really stands out in the crowd, hire a Designer who does.

In the final analysis, clients who put the necessary resources behind having carefully-thought-out visual communications produced by a highly trained, experienced and skilled professional who will take the time to 'really think' through their design problem to create a 'winning solution' for their project, will see the highest returns on their investment.

Quality design saves money in the long run, and builds business. Mediocre design, might be wasted money. Bad design could even 'turn away' potential customers and cost MORE money.

It pays to communicate intelligently.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. First, designers should begin their work by having solid conversation(s) with you the client. If they are not asking intelligent questions about you and your project, and REALLY LISTENING to the answers, you might be with the wrong designer.

Solid designers charge a solid professional rate for their services. They spend many thousands of dollars to learn to do what they do. It is a learned skill like any other that overlays aptitude that is already there.

Many people who are not trained in the profession believe that designers do great work and it takes them much less time than it takes the average person to do much poorer design work. The opposite is really true. The designer does great work because they spend more time AND make better design decisions along the way.

Designers use erasers too. Many people don't understand that.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Why should I hire a designer in the first place? Can't my kid or my secretary do what you do?

Why should I hire you over a different designer?

Can you show me an example of good design versus poor design?

How will your work designing my brand or my message benefit my business or organization?

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. What are my goals with this design work?

What is my message?

Who do I want to communicate it to?

What is the scope of the work that I want to hire a professional to create?

If this is an involved project like a brochure or booklet, do I have all the information collected that needs to be communicated? (this helps to estimate costs more accurately)

If this is a very involved project like a web design, is there anything I would like this web site be able to 'do' besides show static words and pictures on the page?

If a web site, have I written the content and collected the pictures that need to be displayed on the pages, or will I need that written for me?

What is my budget for the work I want to do?

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. JK Design | Graphic Communications is stubborn about producing quality work. The decision was made a long time ago that JK Design is not going to be positioned in the market to grab up as much of the cheapest market share as possible. Plenty of people are already doing that. That is the quick route to burnout and mediocrity.

To do great work that truly helps our clients stand out from their competition, we must really take the time to 'think' about the solutions to each of their unique design problems. That time costs money, however, and must be billed for or you go out of business.

Again, JK Design | Graphic Communications is not positioned in the market to be the cheapest option, just the best. When you want something quick and dirty (read: cheap) go somewhere else. When you want something that is going to last, come to JK Design.

It is this attitude and this devotion to producing lasting quality work that sets JK Design | Graphic Communications work apart from others who do what we do.
