Introduction: Guitar is my passion; teaching is my joy. I am a college student here in Nashville, and have had a love of music since the day I was born. I come from a very musically talented family, from which came the name "JamesGang". I sing, play piano, and write music, but most of all, I play the guitar. I am experienced in all forms of music reading: tablature, sheet music, and the Nashville number system. I am also very experienced in music theory. My guitar abilities include blues, rock, folk, country, Spanish guitar, flamenco, classical, and playing by ear. I am interested in teaching the guitar to all ages, and I am great with kids, as I have a brother whom I started teaching when he was 7. My teaching style is extremely flexible to the goals and requests of my students, and my prices are very low. I am willing to come to any location you request or to have the lessons done on my college campus. I am greatly honored to teach my passion to anyone who desires to learn, and I look forward to teaching you or your children the art of the acoustic guitar. Have a blessed day!

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I play guitar every day of my life. I am constantly bettering my skills by practing, learning new songs and techniques and performing the guitar as often as possible. I challenge myself to increase my abilities every time I pick up my guitar, and I plan to do so till the day I die.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I can teach a wide variety of music genres on the acoustic guitar including country, folk, rock, pop, classical, spanish guitar and flamenco, as well as playing by ear. I can teach all ages both at their home as well as on my college campus in Nashville.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Find somone who is an individual that you trust and that truly cares about their students and loves teaching. The big guitar schools, for the most part, are costly and will treat their students as an appointment time and a check (trust me, I know first hand). I am an individual that has a passion for guitar and a love of teaching. I am not at all focused on making money off of my lessons or students, but I am looking for people with the desire to learn that will allow me to have the honor of teaching them my passion so they might come to enjoy playing the guitar as much as I do.
