5/5 stars November 11, 2011
We loved having Lisa "doll" us up for the CMAs in Nashville. Lisa was a rock star and made us feel beautiful! Our makeup lasted all night and into the early morning!! Thanks Lisa, we loved it!

Question and answer
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. Do they have a professional portfolio of work online? It's important the portfolio you are viewing also has credits. Also look at the pictures to see if they're heavily airbrushed, overly edited (plastic skin). Do they do a lot of print or mostly TV makeup? (If they do mostly TV and little print they may not fully understand print makeup and apply too heavy for print). There are different genres of makeup and each require a different application technique and product. Print makeup is not as heavy as tv makeup and must be perfect; there is no room for error in print. Artists trained in print tend to cost more and be a bit more exacting (i.e, print work is up close and personal vs tv work which is live and several feet away from the camera).
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. Look at my portfolio of work - decide if you like what you see, then call me! Honestly, if you like an artists work and contact them and it fits, you should go from there and hire them. Also, think about what you want to look like - maybe gather magazine looks for inspiration and a starting point.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. I'm an artist with a BFA in painting and use my creativity as a portrait painter and makeup artist. I'm trained in color theory and lighting in most all environments (studio or natural light).
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I love the variety of work that I get - and I get to work with amazing creative people in the industry. It's such a high. I get to meet new people everyday and make people look beautiful! It is very gratifying.
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. It's not about what the makeup artist looks like - it's about their portfolio of work - how many different types of makeup looks are shown - from clean classic pretty (like a Dove commercial) to high end VOGUE makeup and everything in between - you want to see VARIETY - it's ultimately ALL about YOU, the customer and how YOU look. YOU, only better! is pretty much what I say :)
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. I love to make women look beautiful! I worked at Lancome for years before going full time into the bridal, commercial and editorial fields of makeup.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. I try to get to The Makeup Show each year and every couple years to IMATS in LA. I'm continuously taking workshops and courses, assisting other pros, painting and creating - this keeps me sharp!

I hired Lisa for my wedding day makeup for the entire party of 6 plus 2 mothers and myself. She worked miracles on all of us! Not only was she a true artist, making all of us look like models, but she was patient, professional and worked fast. My mother and mother of the groom were especially thrilled as she was able to make them look so beautiful, just a perfect look for my wedding! I highly recommend Lisa!

Lisa was great to have as makeup and hair artist this past week. We hired her to do several promo shoots for a local athletic client and she was pleasant, professional, on time and did a fantastic job for us all. Everything goes smoothing every time she is hired. I will be calling her in the future for more work.
