Extracting colors, blending patterns and creating masterpieces affordably is not everyone’s forte. For interior designer Michelle Rider, it’s like breathing.
Rider is the founder of Inspired Redesign, an interior design company focused on creating your perfect environment for less. “You should be able to accentuate pieces you already own and add a few new items here and there,” Rider said. Whether it’s an eclectic piece of artwork, reupholstering a favorite old chair or rearranging your space to illuminate positive energy, Inspired Redesign has it covered.
Michelle’s expertise stems from her experience in the image and fashion industry. Receiving her MBA in Marketing from the prestigious Kellogg Graduate School of Business, she has worked in Corporate America for over a decade with renowned companies like Calvin Klien, Coca-Cola and Alberto Culver. While working in Corporate America Michelle learned to value customers and their needs. She also learned the importance of loving your personal space at home and work. “It’s amazing how having a space you love can make you a much more productive worker in the office,” Rider said.
Inspired Redesign is constantly flourishing. Her goal is to continue to help home owners redesign their space using most of what they have and infusing it with updated accessories and furniture from national and local retailers. For her corporate clients, Michelle helps her customers update their lobbies, offices and common areas to reflect their client base and employees of today. “It’s important to reflect diversity in design, especially in offices. Customers need to see themselves mirrored where they spend their time and money.”
Rider’s love and expertise in interior design has led her to new endeavors. She is now a lecturer on the subject of retail marketing and interior design and the incorporation of diversity. In the future, Rider in the process of writing her first book on what she knows and loves best, inspiring us all to redesign.
