When looking for a party magician, pay attention to the quality and demeanor. Don't just rely on web sites. Ask for references. Verify with available background checks. If your potential doesn't respond promptly, or misses commitments before the event, it might indicate what kind of service you will get after you've paid and booked their performance. Get a contract. Even if it's a simple "You do this, I pay you that.", get it in writing. Any performer worth his salt will have a contract for you.
