- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first lesson is usually longer as I try to understand the customer's preferred music and the methods that appeal to them.I let the student talk about his favorite songs and experience in music to see what direction we need to go in. Whether its reading music or strictly by ear or combination of both. I want to teach music principles in conjunction with particular songs, so that there is a connection between the music and the theory.If a person wants to learn the Blues, then I find a suitable song by say S.Ray Vaughn. Folk, they might be learning a James Taylor song or the Indigo Girls..
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's of Arts in Music from U.T.A. and played classical guitar as a major. Have played in local pop bands since the 1970's on electric, acoustic guitar and bass guitar. .I have taught electric,acoustic and bass guitar since the 1970's.
