FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have virtually zero Overhead and am able to quote very competitive fees based on that fact. My average billing rate is $150/HR. Inside a full-service Architecture firm of 30-50 employees a Principal's (which is my level of experience) rate will be $250-$350/HR. I prefer to work Hourly during the pre-planning and design phases, then use Lump Sum for preparing the Working Drawings, then back to Hourly during Construction. However, I am very flexible.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My best value to a Client is in quickly and accurately establishing the front-end project parameters - scope, budget, site evaluation, value engineering, project delivery approach, etc. This is where my many years of experience count the most.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an architectural degree from Texas Tech, have been a continuously licensed Texas Architect since 1976, and have designed dozens of commercial, educational, healthcare and residential projects over that time. I have owned three architectural practices, a real estate development company, an engineering firm and have been a Senior Exec for two different construction companies. I have also held a Real Estate sales license in Illinois and have served as an Arbitrator helping resolve construction disputes. I also taught construction contract administration at the University of North Florida.
