Question and answer

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. McDonald Consulting not only identifies areas for improvement, but also "rolls up our sleeves" and does the implementation with you if you wish. We'll bring our significant expertise to bear to identify the seven wastes, and suggest alternatives for eliminating these wastes to make your process more effective and productive. Service? Sales? Office? Production? NO PROBLEM!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Being able to study and improve processes throughout a wide variety of industries allows me to learn about how processes work in detail in multiple areas. How fun is that - to learn about all different jobs, in different disciplines?

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Most questions focus around cost and time - "How long will this take?" or "How much will this cost?" or "How much of my folks' time will this tie up?"

My answer depends on the complexity, the schedule (do we need to put lots of folks on it, or a few? Do you have a deadline for implementation?), and executive buy-in. The bigger the buy-in, the easier the implementation...

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. Experience counts - you want to select a consultant who has experience in more than one company and more than one industry. Someone who retired from a company where they've done an implementation does not have the breadth of experience to bring to the engagement; they've done it one way, with one company. Select a professional whose experience meets your needs.
