Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. I hang a lot of doors. I can retrofit them or tear out them out and replace them with a new complete.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Since, I offer free site visits and estimates, a potential client should have me come over and take a look personally. Part of what you are paying for is the expertise to spot potential complications and be able to give you an accurate bid without suprises.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. When trying to hand my business card to a potential client who was referred to me by a contractor, he found that he already had my business card from the door company I subcontract for.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I don't consider myself a handyman. I am a finish carpenter, and I take pride in the details of my work. I don't even do the work that I would do for myself. I do the work that I would pay for.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. I have recently attended one year of graduate school for construction management where I completed 2 architectural design courses and 1 building techniques course.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. If you are honest, hard-working, and reliable, call me! I could use reliable help.
