Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Know what you are paying for. An uncontested divorce lawyer is not right for everyone, I offer a cheap $1075 flat fee for cases where my client and their spouse agree to the terms of the divorce.

Not sure if your divorce will be uncontested? Call me for a free evaluation / consultation: 512-827-7548.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Clients always ask me by what standards lawyers should be judged so that they know that they are making the right choice in hiring me to be their lawyer. I always tell them that top priority is a lawyer who can translate the law into terms that they can understand. Of course practical experience with lots of other cases helps too. Finally, a passion to see that the client's best interested is protected.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. When someone is looking to hire a divorce lawyer they should match their case to the type(s) of cases that the lawyer handles.

In the same way that you wouldn't go to a brain surgeon for a broken toe; a person should ask the lawyers what type of cases they handle so that the person knows that lawyer has experience that matters.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I provide FAST, professional, and courteous service to my clients; helping them get though an otherwise difficult situation quickly pursuant to Texas family and divorce law.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I enjoy helping my clients get the results they want so that they can more on with their lives.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Q1: What is an Uncontested Divorce?
A1: An uncontested divorce in Texas (also called an: agreed divorce) is a divorce in Texas when both spouses agree to the terms of the divorce, including: Separation of Property (assets and debts), Standard Child Custody, and the spouse who is not filing the divorce petition waives service of citation.

Q2: Do you offer payment plans?
A2: Yes, you can start your divorce for a little as $385 (three payments total). Call me for details.

Q3: Can I just get some forms online and do a "do it yourself divorce" or an "online divorce" by myself?
A3: Yes, you have the right to represent yourself pro se in any matter; however, be cautious as there may be areas of the law that you may not understand. My uncontested divorce representation includes having a licensed attorney work on your case every step of the way. NOTE: Companies that offer divorce forms often do not include filing fees or representation by an attorney. And some divorce firms offer low prices for a "pro se" divorce but will not go to court with you or file the pleadings with an attorney's signature.

Q4: I want a quick divorce, how fast can I get an uncontested divorce in Texas?
A4: Generally, the fastest you can get a divorce in Texas is 61 days.

Q5: Do you accept checks or credit cards?
A5: Yes.

Q6: At what point do you become my divorce lawyer?
A6: The attorney-client relationship is not created until you have signed a letter agreement with our law firm and made payment.

Q7: I don't know where my spouse is, will that be a problem?
A7: You will need to find your spouse in order to have an uncontested divorce in Texas. If you cannot find your spouse, but believe that your spouse will agree to an uncontested divorce, our law firm may be able to help you locate your spouse using public information (note that this service may be subject to additional costs).

Q8: I'm not sure if my spouse will agree to an uncontested divorce, what should I do?
A8: Often when a spouse who is opposing the divorce learns that you are serious about the divorce and that agreeing to the divorce will be much cheaper than contesting the divorce; that spouse will agree to the divorce. One tactic is to hire our firm for the agreed divorce service, we will prepare all of the needed divorce forms and divorce petition, and mail all of the needed documents to your spouse. At that point your spouse can sign the documents and mail them back to our office.

Q9: I'm not sure if my divorce is an "uncontested divorce" what should I do?
A9: Call our office, or fill-out the contact form and type in your question(s). We are happy to take the time to discuss you case in order to determine if our services are right for your divorce.
