Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Avoid pet store dog training programs. In most cases, the dog trainers you will encounter will have only 2 to 3 months’ experience where recruitment is through a newspaper ad. Dog training is both an art and science. There is no way that you can become a professional dog trainer without apprenticing with several experienced dog trainers, with varied backgrounds, over an acceptable period. Keep away from the large pet store dog training programs.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Ask for a free consultation. You should not have to pay to meet with the trainer to decide whether you want to work with him/her. We provide you with a free consultation and evaluation.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Make sure you are paying for results... not for a specified number of hours or sessions. Professional dog trainers know that every dog (and owner) is different. Some need more time to learn than others do. We provide results!

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. It is very rewarding to be able to help out a pet and his master in resolving behavior problems and training a dog to be a well behaved pet in his home and in the community.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. How much do charge for training? My answer is always " affordable". I have never turned down a prospective customer because of cost. I am not in the business for the money.
