Beginner, intermediate and advanced students are welcome. I have a studio in South Austin.
Since the age of 15, I have been performing. I have played in rock, jazz, pop, Zydeco, cover, funk and experimental projects. A top drummer for hire in town, I’m the guy you call on short notice when your drummer can’t make it for some reason, or quits.
I also play in a classic rock band and in a variety band. I have extensive stage experience, as well as studio experience.
I am specifically interested in students who are prepared to take their ability and stage dynamics to the next level.
I teach from the perspective that:
* Some musicians have a lot to say (dynamics and phrasing).
* Some musicians have a large vocabulary (many chops).
We will work on what you have to express and say, and how to say it through the most passionate and powerful of instruments.
Also, I have worked for a Fortune 500 company, and have been in the business world for numerous years as a headhunter and consultant. You can rely on a conscientious and professional experience. I also have numerous years of experience as an adult educator and a coach.
Rates are $35 per hour at my studio near Riverside Dr. and Pleasant Valley.
