Given all the nightmare stories you hear about working with contractors, and especially since I was an out-of-town owner, I was feeling really stressed when my two Austin condominiums burned to the foundation.
I consider myself extremely lucky to have been referred to Keith Howard! We agreed on a budget and he managed to that budget with no surprises. Keith is a straight talker and straight shooter, a good listener, respectful, and most importantly a man of high integrity. I felt very comfortable, 100% of the time, working with him.
The biggest headache was just the process and time required waiting for permits, but Keith took care of that too. Keith has lots of experience in that department. Once the permits were in place he completed the new construction quickly, which was much appreciated, as by the time Austin issued the permits the lost rent portion of my home insurance had run out.
I was pleasantly surprised that I did not have to make a lot of trips out to monitor progress or inspect to make decisions. Keith sent me photos, was very responsive by phone and email, and we were able to quickly make decisions and keep the project moving efficiently. I was very satisfied with the results.

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. Remodeling, new construction, bathrooms, kitchens, renovations, additions, commercial and residential, concrete driveways, concrete paving, stamped and/or stained concrete.
We can general contract any of your construction projects from the ground to the end.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Ask all questions up front and get everything in writing. It is my experience to fully explain everything in detail so that there are no surprises throughout the process.
If you are unsure, ask again and make sure you fully understand the scope of the work you are hiring the person to do, whether it is Howard Custom Homes, or some other contractor.

Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. No two jobs are the same. Each job is unique and I enjoy the challenges that each offers. Flexibility is one of the best parts of the job. I like traveling to various job locations throughout the day and getting to be hands on with each project. At the end of the day, I can look at the job to see that something was accomplished.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. How long will the remodel/building take?
Typically a remodel or new construction project can last from 2-3 days up to 12-14 months depending on many variables that I like to discuss fully prior to signing a contract and starting the job.
I like for each individual to have a good understanding of the issues that may cause delays and fore-warn them of these prior to getting started so that the results meet or exceed expectation.
