I'm a full-time freelance illustrator and graphic designer with over 22 years of experience, including over 12 years of experience as a staff designer and many years as a staff illustrator. I have a client list of over 250 companies and twice as many private clients, with projects including fantasy art, book illustrations, portraits, caricatures, comic art, cartoon art, vector graphics, logo design, advertising and marketing materials, and so on.
I attempt to provide one-stop shopping for new businesses and projects where a client can get all or most of their art needs in one place, combining a strong freehand illustration ability with solid technical knowledge and experience.

Jay is AMAZING!!! He has done some work for my office over the past 10 years, and never ceases to portray EXACTLY what I had invisioned in my head. He's extremely easy to work with, and his pricing is very reasonable. We greatly appreciate him, and will continue to use his artwork for many years to come!!

i love Jay French! when i need him i say "do your JFM"...your Jay French Magic,,,and he does! so talented and so customer friendly,,,even with all my changes he never changed his wonderful attitude,,,But of course its his phenomenal artistry that i love the most...who illustrates like that anymore? And the way he takes his time until all of us are happy with the results,,,,what can i say,,,,i love him!!!

I was in search for a Graphic Designer, and I found Jay. I needed specific size requirements for the art, but left the design totally up to Jay and his imagination. I received my sketch in days..Amazing was all I could say. It was what I imagined without seeing it first hand and the final drawing was perfect. His communication is first rate, you always know what is going on, if you have questions or changes he is quick to fix and accommodate. Jay will be doing all my designs going forward.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. Jay French Studios stands out in the graphic arts for several reasons, but here's the main three:
1- Jay has a very strong ability with the human figure and anatomy, as well as still life, animal art, realism and portraiture. Quite simply, talent can't be learned.
2- Jay has a wide variety of styles, subjects and mediums in his experience. This includes caricature, cartoon art, comic art, book illustration, vector graphics, architectural sketching, corporate branding and more.
3- Jay French Studios caters to new businesses and start-up projects, as well as graphic support for established businesses. This means experienced work, quick turn-around, friendly and professional correspondence and very reasonable rates.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. Nothing is better in this industry than a satisfied customer. The most obvious evidence of a satisfied customer are repeat business (coming back for more), referral business (recommending to others) and testimonials (raving about the work).
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. Questions from customers vary depending on the project, but one of the most common is: "How many edits or changes can I make for this price?" Some even expect to be charged extra for EVERY change. I give customers quite a bit of room for getting their project just the way they want it. If several changes start to take more time than the project was quoted for, I give plenty of warning that much more with incur more fees. I have seldom run into this occurrence.
