Our small business hired Doug Pawlak of CaféPhoto to shoot photos of our location for use in advertising materials. I have used a variety of professional photographers over the past years, and the level of service that we received from Doug was exceptional in every respect. I can't say enough about what a pleasant experience it was to work with Doug, as well as how happy we are with the photos. In spite of his very reasonable prices, Doug went FAR above and beyond to ensure that we would love the photos, and did not try to up-charge us at all. We gave him very challenging photographic work conditions, and he was highly professional and creative in anticipating and solving the problems, and then in continuing to provide us with different versions until we had exactly what we were envisioning. I recommend him with any reservation whatsoever, and I will definitely use him again in the future.

Doug was a joy to work with from the first email inquiry to the finished product. He was open to my ideas, trying new ideas on the spot and, of course, had several great ideas of his own. I felt comfortable very quickly and confident in his talent upon our first meeting and walked away excited about the work we had done. Overall, Doug is a very professional, competent and creative photographer, and I can confidently recommend his services.

A. I photograph very creative portraits and events. I don't think any one thing I do is treated as common. I have done numerous photo retouch and restoration projects from simple to complex as well as graphic design.
A. Price is always the factor when considering doing business. There are very many "photographers" out there. I strive to be competitive in the price arena and make sure I am offering much more. I am experienced in business and strive for nothing less than 100% satisfaction in my service.
A. My secret is: Work hard for many years, always looking to learn new things and techniques every day. Always observe what others are doing and strive to do different. Strive to make a difference.
A. I don't expect my customers to know anything. Possibly what they might have in mind for their photo needs. I am here to help. Give ideas and inspiration. Otherwise, I encourage any input they may have.
A. I have an extensive background in Graphic Design as well as the digital photographic process. Design plays a very important part in creating a unique photo. I don't just "shoot" nice photos, I create them. You will see the difference.
A. I love to create. Love the flexibility my profession offers me. I avoid using the term, I am a "People" person. But have worked with many different people from many diverse backgrounds and let's just say, I enjoy it and find it very interesting.
A. It never fails. If I am photographing an event, people will ask me what else do I do. If I am photographing something else, the same question comes up. Not sure if I understand the question. Otherwise, it is what kind of equipment I use to make my photos look the way they do. I answer, it's not as important the camera you use but the monkey behind the camera.
A. No particular story comes to mind. Overall, I have made many friends from the customers I have worked and in my travels.
A. It isn't easy. You either have talent or you do not. Even if there is talent, it needs to constantly be developed. The key factor is the genuine love and passion for what I do.
A. I have been a photographer since I was around 8 years old. Had a photo darkroom and was always taking photos as well as drawing and painting. I was involved with digital photography soon as the first digital cameras became available. Photographed my first event utilizing the digital process about 12 years ago and it was love.
A. This is very simple and basic. Went to do a family shoot that was going to result in 3 children (two girls and a boy) to produce a collage print as a family gift. The boy child cried and pouted the entire time and mom seemed pretty upset. I took some pretty cute photos of him crying as well as candids when he was in his limited happy mode. Had more than enough to complete the project and mom loved it.
A. A few seminars here and there. I constantly search the internet, read many books and magazines all the time. I like magazines the best because they are the newest, freshest source of information.
A. Yes, there are many new and exciting things that will change my business and the way I produce images. I just don't know what they are yet.
A. My last project was a photo retouch of an old photo. Plus for finished prints of the photo. The original looked pretty weak and had a few blotches and scratches. It took me about 20 minutes to make the photo look much cleaner than it could have ever looked originally. I charged the customer $40.00 for the entire package including the four prints.
A. From portraits to head shots I have a basic package starting at $50.00. It goes from there depending on needs, if prints are needed or anything else extra. Photo retouch is a $25.00 minimum. Otherwise, I do have a long list of other options, so it's always best to get a price quote depending on needs.
A. Learn as much as you can and see what you can offer that is different or unique. Be prepared to work. If you don't love what you are doing, don't do it.
A. Why all these questions?
I don't know. It would be great if anyone sees or reads my answers.
