At Modern Whimsy Events, we take care of the details with ease allowing you to enjoy your big day. We are fully staffed, offering a wide array of wedding and event services that range from simple day-of coordination to full-scale planning.
Not only are we 100% professional, we are also 100% affordable! Because we operate with lower overhead than larger companies, we are able to work with the "budget-conscious" bride who would like to have the peace of mind on her wedding day that comes with knowing someone else is handling the details.
No bride or family member wants to manage timelines, reception set-up, vendor arrivals, clean-up, and all minor and major emergencies that occur at every event; in fact, it is quite impossible to do so and still enjoy yourself. All you have to do is show up on your big day and look pretty because Modern Whimsy Events will take care of everything.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. Modern Whimsy is staffed by an awesome set of young women! We are in touch with current fashion trends, design trends, music, and the best ways to communicate. Unlike some companies with older, more traditional staff, we understand that a phone call isn't always possible; that's why we link up with our clients on facebook, twitter, email, and text. Service is our number one priority,and we know how important it is for a client to get in touch with us WHEN they need us, EVERY time they need us. Constant communication is what sets us apart.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. The best part of event coordination is that we do not sit at our desks all day long, waiting for our lunch our to get a little sunlight. We are constantly moving when we are planning or on a job: site visits, vendor appointments, family consultations, etc.
Our schedule is flexible to meet the needs of our clients, and a great deal of what we do is meeting awesome new people!
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. Customers most often want to know how Modern Whimsy started.
The short answer is that I (Traci Koenig, owner) craved more creativity in my every day life. I had always worked in the corporate world of law and project management, and there just was not much room for creative license. Not to mention, keeping a regular 9 to 5 can be such a drag. So, I decided to use the skills I had gained managing development projects (finance, budget, handling vendors, keeping to a timeline, etc) for something creative- events! I love every part of event coordination, from the lace and flowers to the budgets and schedules.
My partner, Mandy Millican, has always had an eye for design and a goal of event planning. She has her B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of Texas. When we met doing volunteer work together, I knew she'd be a perfect fit at Modern Whimsy. She brings years of event and nonprofit fundraising experience to the table, and between the two of us, there is no shortage of fresh perspective. Thus, Modern Whimsy began to grow!
