Russell Burns RYT is a member of the Yoga AllianceŽ as a Registered Yoga Teacher, Certified Yoga WallŽ Instructor, as well as Certified Yoga Instructor, located in Austin Texas.

My focus is to help customers in the growth of concentration, balance, flexibility, stamina and strength, via the utilization of meditation (dhyana), breath work (pranayama), and yoga postures (asana).

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. My yoga practice comes from a deep introspective connection, and my classes include attention to focus, concentration and balance, as well as the Asana or physical aspects. I'm currently one of just a couple of certified Yoga WallŽ Instructors in the city of Austin, a system based on the ancient techniques developed by B.K.S. Iyengar. I'm available for public, private and corporate on location classes in the greater Austin area. Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. The best part of my career is the people I meet and the positive changes I see the their lives, as I see them in mine through the practice of yoga. Yoga creates endless self improvements to not only our physical body, but our mental and spiritual condition as well, resulting in a happier and more fulfilling life. When I began practicing yoga, I was looking for the physical conditioning that brings most people to yoga, then discovered the underlying benefits, which changed my life, and set me on a path to integrating yoga into my personal and professional life as well.

A. Q: Do I need to be really flexible to practice yoga?
A: No, start where you are, we all find our place and grow from there.

Q: Can yoga help me to lose weight?
A: Yes, there are many styles of yoga, from very relaxing restorative yoga, to very active and challenging power yoga, a real calorie burner.

Q: Can I practice yoga if I have previous injuries or special conditions?
A: Yes, that is what yoga is about, bringing us back to a whole and healthy condition from where ever we are today.
