Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Dessa Parker has been serving the Texas community under the moniker AWFULLY PRETTY. With a history of photography courses behind her and experience with the fashion circuit, she has handled babies of every sort (though she prefers the ones in diapers). There is something inherit in her photos.

A dynamic angle that she usually dismisses and downplays that anyone could have taken that shot. That’s hardly the truth and all her clients notice. Her photography aren’t throwaways but they are museum quality.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. AWFULLY PRETTY is as much about collaborations as it is about creativity. There is a reason you hire a photographer. You do not want the lackluster service of a franchise studio. Photography should not be thrown among other departments like automobile repair or intimates. In this age, photography (from portraits - to - family) should be a celebrity service and that is what I represent.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Whether its professional retouching or color changing, we have a reputation of being able to serve. There isn't a request that cannot be handled provided enough time. I have done album covers where each photo was taken a different day, I have done Senior Portraits where several photos of the Senior made it seem like they were twins, and I have been excited to meet the challenges of my customers. We create art together.
