Upscale comfort food is what I would classify my food as. I believe any occasion deserves good food to be accompanied with good friends and family.

My love of entertaining and cooking, as well as a desire to make any occasion a beautiful one, has brought me to love what I do. Catering by Casie is my way of helping you accomplish your event in a way that makes you happy and provides you with not only a great meal but an outstanding event.

Eating is a part of life and essential, why shouldn't it be good? This has become my philosophy and something that I incorporate not only for my clients but for my day to day life. My family never grows tired of finding out what is for dinner, and friends never tire of coming to my house to eat vs. going out.

This is such an honor to me, as I have always wanted a home that welcomes everyone, and being in the kitchen, making sure we are fed, and well-fed has become a passion.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Parties at their home, buffet style with service delivery, clean up, and servers. We talk about the type of event they are having, the feel or theme they would like to create, and then plan a menu from there.

Q. Describe three recent jobs you've completed.

A. 50th birthday party at a private home, meals delivered for busy working couples, boxed lunch orders for companies in the area

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Feel is the most important to start with, then I would say color. Does this sound like food? Not at first but it will the more we dig for a idea of entertaining and mood. Then we can go to ideas of sit down vs buffet, then finally food. It is a way to help you really get what you want out of the whole experience and not just end up with a plate of chicken and rice.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. If you are on a budget, as well all our these days, you would be amazed of what we can still do to make your event a spectacular and memorable one. Pasta goes a long way, using seasonal items cuts down on cost, and it doesn't always have to be chicken to cut the cost.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. I think it has to do with a feel for the food, whether their style would fit your style, and whether your personalities complement each other. That may sound a bit extreme but the better you work together and "get" each other the better the event will be, and the better you will feel about leaving the caterer in charge to do the job you are trusting them with.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Do you need servers? Dishes, glassware, silverware? Bar service? Buffet or sit down dinner? Venue? How many people, allergies of any kind? Be prepared to pay half up front.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I work with you on a menu to appeal to your idea and tastes. My food is a variety, not to fussy, but always good.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. Designing the menu, seeing where the event will be held. Of course cooking, but seeing people happy and enjoying the food is the absolute best.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. What is your rate? How much would it cost?

That all really depends on what type of service you plan to have, whether I would be dropping off food or serving, cleaning up, etc. Dishes, and the like provided. I love what I do, but let's be honest, I'm in it to provide for my family, I have to make something or its not worth the time away from my family on a weekend if I can't earn something.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. It takes a lot of time to cook and provide what shows up at your door. From the planning of the menu, to the grocery store, to prep, cooking, and delivery and service if needed....it takes a village.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. Always have lived to cook, we always end up entertaining at our home. The idea of doing something you love and enjoying working to acheive a common goal, happy full guests, that's the best!

Q. What are you currently working on improving?

A. Always keeping up with fresh new concepts and ideas in food and food packaging. It becomes an obsession after a while. Local farms and growers, wild game, and hill country vineyards incorporated to make a full menu and delightful experience.
