I am a breeder of red Dudley Labradors, and do training on a limited basis. My Labradors point, as well as retrieve. I have 1 breeding male and 1 breeding female and my pups are yellow, fox red and solid red with amber eyes.
We are located in beautiful East Texas, near lake Toledo Bend. I value my pups and will not ship them. If you would like one of my pups, you have to come get them.
Question and answer
Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. I'm a breeder of fox red Dudley Labradors and training on dogs purchased from me. My Labs both point and retrieve.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. I breed Labrador Retrievers. I have fox red Dudley male and fox red Dudley female that produce litters of solid red and fox red puppies. My fox reds have the colors that you will find in a red fox while my solid reds are red with a gold undercoat. I have recently purchased a black female with 25 titled dogs on her dams side and 24 on her sires side. Sire is yellow and dam is chocolate making her tri-factored. She will be breed to my solid red from my first litter. All of their pups will be Dudley's.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. My Labradors carry the yyB genetic code for color. Through a select breeding program I have the solid red Dudley Labrador. I have 1 breeding male and 1 breeding female so that the red Dudley is the rarest of all Labradors and will stay that way.
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. Do you just train dogs for hunting? No. I also do basic obedience. I do these services on dogs purchased at Labrador Point Kennels.
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. You should Google red Dudley Labradors and see what you come up with. A fox red Dudley Labrador will be red with a gold undercoat and a splash of white somewhere on it, the only exception to that are my solid reds, they have no white.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. My fox red Labradors have the same colors as the very first registered yellow Labrador Retriever, Ben of Hyde, who was a Newfoundland Retriever and owned by the Queen of England.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. The most think I like about my job is that I just about always have puppies around to play with. My puppies not only look good they are also intelligent.
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. I traveled all over the world working in the oil industry but as I got older and my health begin to deteriorated I went back to my first love. Labradors.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. I am connected with various Labrador Retriever breeders across Texas. Most had never heard of a red Labrador much less one that points until mine began to appear and my litters would be sold out within 2 weeks of being born.
