We contacted L & M Services to help us with some energy conservation issues. The attics on our house were not properly vented and built up extreme heat during the summer. This caused on A/C units to work overtime trying to cool down our house. Our electric bills were escalating higher than the National debt!
Luke formulated a plan to install the proper venting in the attics and suggested an attic fan to dissipate the heat buildup. He also determined we had significant problem with heat being drawn down from our attic stairs opening causing the upstairs thermostat, located below the stairs, to register a higher temperature then the rest of the upstairs area. This, in turn, played havoc with the upstairs A/C unit and kept it running much longer than it should have. The kids complained they woke up cold in the morning with A/C running all night, and dad had to pay for it!
Luke installed the second story attic vents, added an attic fan, and installed the attic tent to insulate and seal the stairs area and solved the A/C problem.
I would highly recommend L & M Services for all your energy conservation needs. These people know what they’re doing and take the extra effort to fix things right the first time. They came in on time, on budget, and exceeded my expectations.

finally!! a contractor thats honest.there was no HIDDEN FEES with L&M, they came out took some measurments called back in a timely manner with a DETAILED BID no ifs ands or buts with these guys..VERY PROFESSIONAL,and the work was top notch,highly recomendable..

L&M Services has completed several jobs for my customers as well personal jobs for me. I contracted L&M Services to put in laminate floors in my family room recently. I received a great estimate within a couple of hours of contacting them. I had family coming in town on short notice so I was worried about the job being completed in time, but they assured me that it would not be a problem and in fact the job was completed earlier than I expected. Luke was very professional, yet easy going and flexible with some changes I had made. I will refer him to all my friends. L&M Services will be doing a room addition for us in August! It was over all an amazing experience!

I've had the pleasure of working with L & M Services on two projects at our house. Luke Long is a detail oriented builder who also is very creative when limitations arise on location. For example, we wanted the ceiling raised in our new dining room and Luke was able to do a wonderful job given the constraints of the roof and beams over that particular part of the house. Beautiful! And our recent wood deck project was challenging in that we didn't want to lose the big trees. We kept most of the trees and he figured out how to cut the planks around them AND keep the deck level with the back door of the house. Very precise and creative on his part.....and his team is excellent. Real gentlemen and a joy to be around! We'll be calling him soon for the next thing on our wish list.

We contracted with L & M Services to clean, repair and stain our deck, to wash our 20' high windows inside and out, and to remove a very dense growth of bamboo. Their work was excellent, thorough and completed in a timely manner. Their pricing was very fair and their attitudes were positive and cordial. We will use them again and are hapy to recommend them to anyone needing their services.

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. Although no one job is ever the same, renovations and repairs average higher than most. In many areas of The Woodlands, homes are over 15 years old. This generally is the time when things around the house need repairing or updating. I am also seeing a lot of requests for a more cost-efficient way of cooling their house. With the heat our area has been experiencing for months now, it is not unexpected and I anticipate more potential customers in the months to come.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Always leave an email and/or phone number on initial request. Also telling the contractor that you will interview several prior to his visit and want extensive background checks and references is always a good idea.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. No inside secrets in this job, what you see is what you get. From Amazon Contracting that means reliability, quality work and competitive prices !
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. If you have not been referred to the professional or know little about them, ask for their references. A reputable company will be willing to provide them to you. Ask for a written quote before any services are commenced, so no hidden fees are presented at the end. Ask them what their protocol is for resolving problems, should they arise. Above all, trust your instincts. If you are not happy with any aspect of your conversation with them, do not hire them.
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. Customers just need ideas. It is my job to help the customer creatively and calmly. Customers are usually worried about two things. How affordable is your work and is it quality work.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. I pride myself on being extremely reliable, always on time and very precise with the quality of work I provide. I personally selected the people who work with me to ensure, as a company, we have the highest integrity. It is a testament to us that we have so many returning customers.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I like the fact that my job is different everyday. From visiting the client, to creating a strategy and implementing a work plan, no one day is ever the same. The satisfaction I feel when a client is happy with my work, and goes on to recommend me to friends or family, is priceless to me.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. Surprisingly, cost is lower down the list than you may think. The most common questions are 'Are you local ?', 'Do you have good references that I can see ?' and 'Have you done this kind of thing (repairs/remodeling/improvement) a lot ?'. I am happy to say we can saay 'Yes' to all of these questions.
Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?
A. I got a call from a family that was desperate for help. The family didn't have the funds to make the necessary repairs to their property. After understanding the situation they were in, I created a payment plan for my services that was affordable to them. This situation rarely arises but sometimes bad situations happen to good people and I will always look for a way to help out. Situations such as this, and the successful outcome, are a source of pride to me as I work with the community.
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. I know exactly how it feels to be looking for a service provider and not knowing where to start. I have been there myself with my own household. To be able to trust that person into your home is paramount and at Amazon Contracting, integrity is our guarantee. I take pride that our testimonials that reflect this.
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. My parents were school teachers in East houston growing up. I worked in Real Estate for ten years and this gave me extensive insight into alll aspects of remodeling/repairing properties. I decided to move into this field and have never regretted it.
Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.
A. I had a client recently that had an air-conditioning problem that had failed to be corrected by two previous contractors. I assessed the situation and worked at finding a solution to the excess heat they were experiencing in one bedroom. I created improved ventilation in the attic and installed an attic tent above the attic stairs. The client reported an almost immediate improvement in temperature and was happy that the attic tent would, over time, reduce his energy bills.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. I am proud to say my team at Amazon Contracting are all highly skilled individuals within their own fields. Saying that, we are always looking to widen our experience and we accomplish this by listening to clients' needs and suggestions.
Q. Describe your most recent project, what it involved, how much it cost, and how long it took.
A. Currently we are creating a newly designed parking lot which includes, concrete, asphalt, fencing and landscaping for a commercial business in Conroe,TX. This project was necessary due to the widening of I-45 North feeder adjacent to the business.

A. It's simple. I quote a price. The client pays 50% upfront and the remainder upon completion. A 1 Year warranty on improvements/installations/repairs is included.
