If you need a screen replacement, our charge is $49.00, plus you supply the replacement. If you need help to find one to order, send us a note, as we do not bid on broken screen jobs but love to replace them when contacted directly.

If we can't fix your problem, it's most likely not fixable, or you can go buy one more easily. We want you to get the most of your money, and sometimes, that involves just not spending the amount necessary to fix something when you can apply that to a new purchase, but this is a decision we leave up to our customers of course. Most repairs are under $100.00. All are guaranteed!

I have over 30 years of both hardware and software as well as audio/visual support and repair experience, plus the doc is an A+ certified PC technician. I can help, and the estimates are free.

    Tim was extremely helpful! We needed someone last minute for POS repairs and Tim not only provided excellent customer service but he was also able to coordinate a time very quickly.     Timm did a wonderful job with my computer. He was like a dog with a bone getting at the real reason why my OS would not install.     Tim did an excellent job of very quickly working through a number of issues caused by multiple computer virus software packages that had been loaded on my computer and were trying to run at the same time. Due to his experience Tim was able to quickly bring in different search tools to find and eliminate all the unwanted software packages. An excellent job by a very knowledgeable person.     Tim fixed my laptop w/ a user profile server error. He contacted me immediately when i submitted my request through Thumbtack and seemed very knowledgeable. He responded w/in hours of receiving an email from me and gave me a contact # to talk w/him directly about the issue. He had my laptop fixed in less then 24 hours and was able to explain what the issue was and things I could do to avoid further issues.

    I was in a rush to get my MacBook Pro back up and running for school. The hard drive crashed and it did not look like there was any hope in recovering the files. I went to the apple store and they were not able to do anything other than give me more to worry about. Apple was not helpful at all. They did not even give alternative solutions even though the whole problem was their defective hard drive. Tim was able to recover ALL the files. He is patient, knowledgeable, understanding, and helpful. He tells you everything he is doing to your computer so even if you're not techy, you'll understand. He is very straight forward and is more interested in helping you out than ripping you off. He is true to his service and just one of the nicest people to deal with. I can't thank him enough for helping out in such a short notice. I would recommend him to anyone needing computer repair service, mac or windows.

    I highly recommend PC Doctors and will use them again.

    The iPhone stopped synching following the download of the new iTunes update. The computer was also slow, heated up on visits to websites with far too much in graphics, and occasional "power surge" messages had flashed when plugging externals into the USB ports. I took the iPhone to the ATT store and they could ;t help, sent me on to the iPhone "Genius Desk" at the iPhone store. There at the "Genius Desk", I was told that the problem was in the USB ports and they couldn;t help me since they are "not allowed" to work on non-Apple computers.

    So I stumbled upon Thumbtack via google search and PC Doctors and am I glad I did.

    First all all, forget the Apple iPhone "Genius Desk".

    PC Doctors was prompt in responding to my inquiry, thorough in responding to my list of symptoms, and proposed "non-invasive" options, including diagnosis and repair by remote. Moreover, the proposed fee was fair and balanced and also reasonable.

    PC Doctors returned my phone calls promptly, and once we had agreed upon a time, was right ontime, online.

    Following a couple of quick dowloads, PC Doctors was navigating my machine and found -- guess what -- that the problem was the iPhone sync driver in the new iTunes which had failed to install. Just to keep it safe, PC Doctors downloaded the driver fresh, installed it, and lo and behold, the iPhone was synching and was demanding to download about 182 photos, mostly of flowers and clouds and trees and sunsets, and my dog, lol. The music also made it.

    After that, PC Doctors ran some other diagnostic scans and really cleaned up the computer, uninstalling a lot of junk and crap that was clogging and slowing things. Also installed was a SpeedFan to monitor temps and fan speed which now appears unnecessary because PC Doctors had removed the crapware that was making it run hot in the first place, although it is a handy monitoring tool anyway.

    Finally PC Doctors offerd to do a security scan for a fee that was also quite fair and balanced as well as reasonable.

    Holy Cow! I couldn't BELIEVE the malware and other crapware that he found DESPITE the brand new NORTON. And he also told me what kind of downloads and apps to watch out for -- that a lot of downloads and apps carry "hitchhikers" -- intended or not -- that clog or twist things up. After that experience, I intend to follow his suggestion to purchase a year of the Malware software at month's end to augment the Anti-Virus -- and it is also at an awesome fair, balanced and reasonable price.

    Meanwhile, no USB ports to replace or other "invasive" procedures per the Apple tech at the "Genius Bar" -- all of 24 and quite certain of himself, of reality, and of his place in the world.

    I highly recommend PC Doctors and will use them again.

    Timm did a remarkable job repairing our desktop. He demonstrated a great depth of PC knowledge by identifying the problem and eliminating it - all through a remote connection. He was professional and quite patient as our problem took the better part of a weekend afternoon to solve. We absolutely recommend Timm. He is now our "go to" PC fix-it guy! BTW, for the service he provides, he is very reasonably priced!

    I am absolutely astounded at how fast you were able to resolve my issues from a remote location! Subsequently at such an economical and fair price. My pc is now running like brand new again. No more text jumping which has caused me major frustrations for months now. Consequently, I can see the difference in my screen appearance and the speed at which my system is now operating.     My HP laptop's cooling fan was going out, generating OS warnings and sporadically running hot enough to cause safety shutdowns.I planned on doing the replacement myself but bailed when I saw just how much dissassembly labor was involved, including removal of the motherboard. Timm quoted such an unexpectedly low price for doing this work that I was feeling a little guilty in accepting it. Not only did he do the work in about a 24-hour turnaround, but he downloaded and installed fan and temp monitoring software for the laptop, then test-ran the unit for several hours in his shop to log the results, even opening various CPU- and GPU-intensive apps to make sure everything was behaving nominally. I couldn't have asked for better, faster (or less expensive) service, Very happy to recommend PC Doctors to others...

    I brought my computer to several people, and they couldn't get it fixed, one guy just handing it back to me awkwardly after a couple weeks. But Timm managed to fix it to the point to where it may even be working better than before. Great worksmanship, I would definitely recommend.

    Timm was fantastic. He is patient. Knows what he's doing and explains what / why hes doing ... Timm took my dead desktop and brought it back to life and it;s functioning better than it ever did. He optimized my laptop, that was nearly unusable, to the point that it is nearly new out of the box functionality.

    If you have any computer related problems...I wholeheartedly recommend Timm. He's honest. Knows his stuff and you won't beat his prices. I am in McKinney and Timm had no problems coming to me home to get this thing sorted out.

    I could not have been more pleased with the work that was done on my computer!

    One day my computer was working well, and the next day when I tried to turn it on the screen would not come on at all. I found thumbtack while browsing for computer repair via my cell phone. Tim contacted me promptly to get some more specific information on my computer and quickly researched my specific model to see if the problem I was having was something that had been reported by other users. He was quick to get back to me with specifics about what was most likely causing my problem. I got in touch with him and took my computer to him for repairs. Tim was extremely helpful, he got my computer repaired and really saved me from a tight spot.

    I would definitely recommend Tim to anyone looking to have work done on their computer. He knows what he is doing, his prices are fair, and he is willing to be as helpful as he can be.

    My computer had stopped recognizing wireless networks. Tim quickly diagnosed the problem as corrupted drivers. He took the time to correct the problem, check out my computer, and get windows updated. I will use him again if I have a problem.

    I'm typing on the computer that Timm fixed!! :) I was with my husband at Baylor Hosp., who had just received two organ transplants, when my computer charger connection breaks.     Not willing to pay the high diagnostic charged by big box geek squads, I was ready to replace my laptop. FoundTimm through a Google search.     I had issues with my laptop screen, and needed to replace it. Timm was extremely helpful in finding the best solution for my issue at the best cost. He even took the time to research and communicated with the manufacturer. In result, I ended up getting a discount from the manufacturer, and I fixed my computer at almost half the cost of already the best deal I could find in DFW. This is the first review I have ever taken the time to write. I really appreciate Timm going out of his way to write HP a letter, and how he dealt with the customer relations team in order to get a deal for me. I would recommend Timm to anybody who wants great customer service and the best price in town.

    Timm did a GREAT job! He repaired my laptop very quickly and for much less than expected. His follow-up was terrific too! I will definitely use him again and can confidently recommend him to anyone looking for a "computer guy!"

    I would like to extend the warmest thank you to Timm Wheeler for all the time he has devoted to helping me with my past problems with my systems. I have been hacked several times and have over 6 computers in my home. Upon receiving my first message it was only a short hour later and he was right on the job. He is only a message away, and each time I have requested his help, he was not far. Not only does he know what is is doing, he has an AMAZING heart "the size of Texas"!! Over the past 18 months he has helped me clean up all of my systems on at least 10 occasions. I am forever grateful for having this wonderful, caring soul as a friend. LOVE YOU TIMM!!     On my laptop, Windows XP Home was barely working, I couldn't connect to the internet and there seemed to be a whole range of problems with the hard disc and the back-up disc. I found Timm through Thumbtack, and left my laptop with him hoping he could fix the problems. He did better than I could have imagined, dusting the cooling fans, re-loading the disks and drivers and even installing a tune-up program. I need my laptop to teach online courses at a local community college and he was there when I needed help. I recommend Timm highly because he is very competent, timely, and reasonable. When you need a PC doctor, call Timm!

    Timm helped me out when I had serious problems with my pc. I had a virus and Timm jumped in to the rescue. Not only did he fix the problem, he helped my pc to run faster and proficient. I am so grateful for Timm's assistance and friendly demeanor.

    Timm's assistance was invaluable to me, having lost my sound and video drivers and working with a laptop that had slowed down considerably. He walked me thru everything he did which was an education unto itself and I understand more about the workings of my computer. Not only did he 'speed up' my laptop, he explained why he was doing what he did, so that it all made sense. The result is a customer for life who will recommend and promote him to friends and family. Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Laptop and Laptop Screen Repairs and it varies since I can cover almost any problem with any computer, Apple or PC/Linux.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. There are many PC Service companies/persons out there. Some have no education and are self taught, others a combination and all I can say is experience is the best teacher. Look for EXPERIENCE, good reviews, professionalism and this should be a good start.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. It's not rocket science,and we love to teach people who want to learn how we fix things or do a service if the time is available. We also do one on one tutoring too.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. Ask about experience and see what they have out there for reviews and see their LinkedIn. Success always leaves a trail.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Need to know your operating system, type of device, model, and problem details. If you get an error message it helps to write it down or just leave it and let us remote into your PC and look at it for ourselves. It always helps when PC Doctor can look at the 'patient' live .

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Many services charge like they are real MD's... not PC Doctor. Part of what we are doing is trying to make PC repairs and services as well as web sites for small businesses affordable and fair.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. PC Doctors enjoy helping people with technology and participate in community charity events helping with technology such as volunteerism. We love to help.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. PC Doctor loves computer technology and helping people. The owner sold his first program, written for an Apple IIe at 19 years of age and it grew from there. Took Systems Analysis and Programming in college and have been staying on top of this ever-changing technology realm ever since. It's like being a doctor to keep up with at times !

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. IT is constantly changing and updating... most of the news lately is Super Wi-Fi and Tablet Computers/Smart Phones.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Get some certifications, such as A+ and a networking certification, then EXPERIENCE! Remember NONE of those buttons say 'detonate' so learn as you go and don't be afraid to try things out. Remember when something comes up you are unsure of, Google is your friend !

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. Experience and I LOVE what I do in that it helps people out with something that can cause lots of frustration at times.
