I have taught students of all different ages and skill levels. I don't have one set way of teaching, as everyone learns differently. I always try to explain concepts in several different ways, until the student fully understands. I play all styles of music, and can figure out songs by ear almost instantly.

I started taking guitar lessons with Ian just a couple of months ago. Before that, I had never even touched a guitar before in my life. As impossible as it seemed for a girl with short fingers to play some tunes on a guitar, I've actually accomplished the impossible with his help. He has been so patient and encouraging during every lesson, always carrying himself in a professional and positive manner. I still have long ways to go before I can say "I play the guitar" like I want to, but I know that I can count on Ian to guide me along the way. Definitely a great teacher!

Shop around. Find as many instructors in your area as you can. Make your decision based on price, availability, and credentials. Anyone can offer guitar lessons, make sure the instructor you go with actually knows what he/she is doing. Student testimonials are always good to check out as well.
