Introduction: I have taught students of all different ages and skill levels. I don't have one set way of teaching, as everyone learns differently. I always try to explain concepts in several different ways, until the student fully understands. I play all styles of music, and can figure out songs by ear almost instantly.

Our eight year old grandson is taking guitar lessons from Ian. I sit and listen in another room during the guitar lesson and have found Ian will recommend a viable solution to any frustration encountered by our grandson during the lesson. Ian is very patient and moves the lessons along when needed or slows the lessons down when there is a skill set needing to be accomplished for progress. During a recent lesson I overheard our grandson say "This is going to be fun" when he heard the next song Ian was teaching him. He was so excited about the lesson he memorized it before he went home to play it for his parents. Our grandson is always ready for his next guitar lesson with Mr. Ian.

I started taking guitar lessons with Ian just a couple of months ago. Before that, I had never even touched a guitar before in my life. As impossible as it seemed for a girl with short fingers to play some tunes on a guitar, I've actually accomplished the impossible with his help. He has been so patient and encouraging during every lesson, always carrying himself in a professional and positive manner. I still have long ways to go before I can say "I play the guitar" like I want to, but I know that I can count on Ian to guide me along the way. Definitely a great teacher!
