I have over 8 years experience in deep tissue, pregnancy and postpartum (certified), Thai herbal, lymph drainage, and craniosacral therapy.

My clients tell me I have a wonderful touch; it's strong and confident, and I'm also a good listener.

Also, I recommend stretches, how to do pressure points, etc. to get the most out of your treatments.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Pregnancy massage, thai herbal and chair massage. Every treatment is customized, so I try to make sure you get what you need and want.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Consultations are always free.
Pricing is not the best determinator.
Don't get locked into a contract.
Experience speaks volumes.
Location is key, you don't want to have to drive far after.
Try a sample of my work, like chair massage or just get a half hour.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. When choosing a therapist, you will know much about them just from the conversation you have with them. How do they answer the phone, how do they answer your questions, what is the feeling you get from your interaction with them. This is an indicator of the energy they are giving off. The massage should be about you, 100%, not about them, do you get that feeling from the get go. During the massage, is it about your treatment, do you feel their intention is to help you heal, relax...if so, then you are getting a good massage.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. I really try to listen to my clients, and then come up with a plan for each individual treatment. I leave time for them before and after each treatment, no rushing. At the end, I can make suggestions like stretches and pressure points they can do at home to feel their best everyday.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. This job provides instant gratification, in 20 minutes to one hour, my client feels more relaxed and substantially in less pain.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. What can they do at home to keep feeling their best? Every answer is individualized, it may be stretching or pressure points. Price is also a concern, we may be able to bill your insurance for therapeutic massages, just ask.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I care about my clients/patients...I want them to get better. I believe the human body, especially the mind is the greatest healer and that massage can facilitate that. It's deeper than just getting out knots, its safety, comfort, exchange of energy. Unfortunately not all therapists feel this way, some are not grounded, some are only concerned with the money they will make. I come from another perspective. Make sure you're getting the best.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Absolutely, I usually do more than the state requirements, and then educate my clients about the latest if I think it will help them. Latest is the Thai Herbal, it's absolutely amazing, with steamed herbs, aromatherapy and hypnotic royal thai techniques, it's a favorite and I plan to help teach a class this year.

Q. What are the latest developments in your field? Are there any exciting things coming in the next few years or decade that will change your line of business?

A. We just started using kinesiotape. It's a special tape developed for professional athletes to support contracted/tight/hypertonic/painful muscles and allow more blood flow to the area. It immediately ends the pain in many cases and is a good way to continue treatment after the massage.
