The lady that came was an extremely hard worker and didn't leave until the job was completely done to our satisfaction.

Awesome job! The last company said that we needed to replace our windows because they couldn't get the stains out. These guys came out and explained what was on the windows and they removed it. This is a must use company. Thumbs up and Five Stars!

If you want the simple answer to spare you reading the long review... do not hire this company. My experience with them has been absolutely horrible. I apologize in advance for the length of this review as well. I just want to be sure that I am absolutely clear in what happened, specifically because the manager of this company, Wendy, has been less than understanding and has promised to respond in kind to my review. I almost wish I had done a video as soon as I returned home instead, but such is life and I was hoping that I wouldn’t have to post this. I am not here to put anyone down, make a mountain out of a molehill or try to take anyone for granted. I simply want to present the facts as they are. Facts that make me feel as though I received less than satisfactory work to say the least and terrible customer service. Let me start by saying that I think we can all agree that house cleaning is hard work. I fully appreciate that. In fact that is exactly why I hire a professional every few months to do a deep clean over the areas I don’t get to as much. I am very good at the upkeep of my house. I am one of those people that cleans before the cleaning lady comes to make sure she only has to focus on cleaning the areas I really don’t get to on a regular basis (i.e. base boards, window sills, refrigerator, light dusting, the burned on stuff on the glass stove top, etc.). Included in this I expect the normal everyday once over of the counters, floors, toilets, showers and sinks. I don’t feel at all like this is asking too much and I have always been told my house is an easy one to clean. I am also more than happy to pay for the convenience of having someone do this hard work for me. So here we go…. I contacted this company because my regular lady (who I adore exponentially more after this experience!) is out of town. I have always been very happy with the professionals referred to me by Thumbtack and had no reason to expect any different this time. However, I was a bit unsure of the quote of $70 for 2 ½ hours of cleaning. It normally takes my lady about 4 hours to do a deep clean on my house top to bottom. I expressed this to Wendy and asked how many people she sends and if she believes that 2 ½ hours is routine for them for a house of my size (all details are provided prior to the quote including square footage, how many stories, bathrooms, bedrooms, etc. so there can be no misunderstanding). She assured me that she would send out her “best girl” and that even if it went over they aren’t super stringent and there was nothing to worry about. I will say that on that front she was being honest. They did not attempt to charge me for the extra time spent at my house. So yesterday her girl, Ericka, arrived at my house two hours late at 11:30. The appointment was set for 9:30 am, and Wendy did call at about 10:15 to tell me that Ericka would be late, but was on her way. I told her no biggie, I totally understand that cleaning can run over and it was raining outside anyway. I would have appreciated a call before it was obvious that she was going to be late, but that isn’t a big deal…having said that 11:30 was later than I was expecting even given the phone call. She arrived and we went over expectations as described earlier in this review. Again, nothing out of the ordinary. She mentioned they also do ceiling fans as a normal procedure, which I have to say I don’t normally have done and was happy to hear, because they could use a good a cleaning. The first room as you walk in to my house is my “formal” area, which has nothing in it but a chaise lounge and sewing table. It is has a hardwood floor and we never spend any time at all in there so there is just really nothing to do in there except the floor and the shutters. She did vacuum out the chandelier fixtures as well which was nice. She pulled out the chaise lounge and vacuumed it (which I thought was not necessary but a nice touch). She was chatty and sweet this whole time and really kept a conversation flowing. I appreciated that but also thought that it was distracting her a bit from her work. However, I assumed she knew what she was doing. Usually my lady is super sweet but not chatty, she just does her thing and we kind of do our thing. I offered her drinks and fresh cut fruit (as I normally do for my lady) on a few occasions, but she declined each time. She used her hoover to vacuum the baseboards and I vaguely remember her wiping them down as well. (I have a 15 month old that had my attention divided.) She had an extremely long handled pole (she said she brought the cathedral pole on accident) that she attached a square Swiffer type mop head to and used that to apply some Murphey’s cleaner. I did not see her sweep or vacuum the main part of the floor before doing this, although again, my attention was divided and I am willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. Before putting the room back together (chaise back in its place, pillows back on etc.) she moved on to my family room. I will say that at this time I did notice that there was debris left in the corner behind where the chaise normally sits. I try not to focus too much on how clean things are getting during the process because I don’t want to micro manage. I assume they know their job and just expect it to get done in the end, so I didn’t say anything. In my family room she cleaned my ceiling fan and pulled out my sofa and cleaned the windows (we did not discuss windows so I assumed this was standard for them). She lifted my area rug and again used her square mop in the main part of the floor. Again, I didn’t see her sweep prior to this. She also did not move any of my small furniture away from the wall to clean under. I don’t necessarily expect this for a regular clean, but for a deep clean I would think that would be standard procedure. After she was “done” she asked how it looked and specifically said to me that she cleaned the windows and the window sills as well as the floor. I looked at the rug and noted in my mind that it looked exactly the same as it had before and mentioned to her that here seemed to be some things left on the rug and did she mind taking care of that. I also looked at the window sill at that time, (only because she asked how it looked and said she did it, otherwise I am quite sure I would not have even noticed yet) and saw that there was still dust and debris in the window sill as well as my child’s toy ball (my windows extend behind my sofa and she loves to drop things into the window sill behind the sofa). So I told her that there were still some things back there and could she go ahead and take another look. I heard her start up the vacuum and returned to feeding my child in the kitchen. Let me tell you that by this time almost two hours had already passed! I definitely realized quickly that this would be taking much longer than two and a half hours and starting to worry why it took so long to do so little. There really was nothing to do in the two rooms she finished. And she still had the kitchen, 3 and three bathrooms to finish! She even mentioned time was flying but said that it was okay she wasn’t worried. Again, there has been pretty steady conversation flow only interrupted by my occasional phone call, my daughter’s needs or her occasional vacuuming. I did feel that I would like to stop the chat to allow her to work, but to be honest, I don’t like leaving a new person alone in my house until I know I can trust them, so I didn’t feel I could venture further than the next room over. I learned her life story and she asked about mine. I won’t lie, I’m a chatty person and I like conversation as well. I certainly didn’t want to be rude, but in the back of my mind I couldn’t help but think that this would be going faster if she put her head down and worked. I did not specifically see her wipe anything down, I don’t have any clutter on my shelves, so it wouldn’t have taken long to do and I could have missed it. I assumed she did because I saw stuff moved around. After the family room, she went into my half bath and worked in there. I didn’t watch her as I was in the kitchen feeding my daughter. She came into the kitchen and started working on the refrigerator. Around that time I went up to put my daughter down for a nap. This was just after 2pm. When I came down she was taking out drawers and washing in the sink, I didn’t pay a lot of attention, but the conversation kept up. My daughter woke at about 2:40 and she was still at it with the refrigerator. This was early for her to wake up so I stopped the conversation to go check on her. She fell back asleep when the conversation stopped, so I just mentioned I thought we might be keeping her awake with the conversation and that I needed to get some work done, so I’d leave her to her work as well. I sat in my living room working on my computer as he cleaned. My daughter woke from her nap at about 3:40 just as Ericka was finishing up the kitchen. At this point she said she was getting ready to head up stairs and would spray that oven before she went and come back down and do the floor as the last thing. Things were moved around on my counters so I assumed she had wiped them down (for the amount of time that had passed I most certainly hoped so!) She starting working on wiping down the banister on the stairs as I worked to get my daughter and myself ready for an appointment at 4:30. I was getting very worried that she would not finish before I had to leave. I mentioned to her at 3:45 that I had an appointment and would have to leave by 4:05 at the latest. She moved into my room and did my ceiling fan and I saw her move into the master bath. Again, I was busy getting ready to go so I was unable to see what she was working on, but I heard water run, a toilet flush and some grunting like she was working hard to get it done quickly, which I appreciated. It was however, becoming very clear that she would not be finishing before
Window Cleaning Pros R Us's reply
I am disappointed to read this review considering that I have messages from you about how pleased you were with our cleaning services. Not only did you express how happy you were with the job we did, but you even tipped one of our workers (who ended up doing extra work that was not in the job request). I would have preferred that you be transparent about how satisfied you were rather than telling me one thing and posting a review that states the opposite. Even though our interaction didn't end well, I stand behind the quality of my services and I wish you luck with your future cleaning needs.

Erica was friendly and personal. Before starting, she went over what we had discussed and went above and beyond with her services. She did a ton of work in a short period of time. Everything she did was above my standards.
