- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I love music and became fascinated with the recording process, and as I got further down the rabbit hole I realized that I was good at it and could do it for a living.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
It is always best to be as prepared as possible before entering the studio. The studio is not the place to write a song or rehearse a song. A recording studio can sometimes add performance pressure, known as "the red light syndrome," so when you are really rehearsed, your muscles will take over and you will get a good performance. Be prepared.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish more people knew about Crestwick Sound's willingness to help you learn about the recording technique. A lot of people come to looking for recording time to record a pet project, but the money is too much of an issue. There are great ways to record yourself available, especially if you just want a decent quality recording to enjoy for yourself. We offer classes that will teach you everything you need to know. Pro-Tools training, etc...
