Since starting my photography business in 2009, my camera has turned from a piece of equipment that makes me money to a piece of heaven that has become an expression of my soul!
I picture the world with brand-new eyes when I am taking photographs. Spending my weekends with couples who can't see past the eyes of their dearly loved is perfection to me!
Even the unexciting part of owning a photography business is a pleasure, but the utmost part of this job is the moments of meeting you!

Jessica Schaack of RAEportraits has a way of capturing such rich and raw emotion in her photographs. She has an eye for the beauty of the earth and has a way of making every photoshoot unique to each person, couple, family, bride, groom, and friend. She is professional, yet makes those she is photographing feel comfortable. Through her candid photos she is able to freeze a moment in real life that could easily be forgotten. She is a beautiful person herself and uniquely capturing the beauty in the faces and places around her is what makes her RAEportraits; radiant, alluring and exquisite all the way around.

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. My best advice is make sure you click with your photographer. Your wedding photographs are going to be your most precious item from your wedding. Find a photographer who represents you and your style. Don't go cheap on your photographs.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. My work is about YOU! Yes, I said it. YOU! I want to capture reasons you are in love. The reasons you are getting married.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. Freezing a moment in time that maybe forgotten if not for that photograph.
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. There is WAY more to being a photographer than just taking pictures. In fact, taking the pictures is the easiest part of this job. Keeping up on e-mails, advertising, customer satisfaction, and editing pictures are the most time consuming part of this job.
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. I feel like I was divinely lead here. Art has always been such a passion of mine, but I couldn't draw with a darn, singing was out of the questions, and when I dance, I have two left feet. I always wanted a way to express the beauty of the world, and in early 2009 photography presented it self.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. Oh absolutely! I believe continuing your education is the most important thing you can do. I attend workshops regularly, I stay connected with latest gadgets, and I practice. Practice. Practice.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?
A. Oh goodness! My number one suggestion: Be passionate. If you are passionate you will succeed... eventually. Whether it takes you a year or ten. You will get there.
