Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. All types of welding repair on mild steel & custom fabrication. I learned how to weld on cross pipeline.

Q. Describe three recent jobs you've completed.

A. 1. Repaired roof beams on 40x100 metal building from 14 inch snow 2 years ago. They had settled 1 1/2 to 2 inches. We jacked them up and trussed the middle 10 ft.

2. Replaced a trailer jack on trailer mounted BBQ smoker.

3. Repaired chair seat on stair chair lift for a resident.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Call and talk about what you need and ask if they have done that type work before. Ask if they will have material or if you will supply the materials and a possible time frame.Find out if they will come to your place or if the work will have to be carried to them.Check if there is a trip or travel time charge. You should have type material required and a time need or required to be finished.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I like the job because it is always different repair work can be a very demanding.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. It is hard work and takes time to be good.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. I worked on pipelines while I was in high school and college and decided I wanted to be a welder.

Q. If you were advising someone who wanted to get into your profession, what would you suggest?

A. Be willing to work hard. It takes several years to get good at the job, you have to be able to fix what you mess up.

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. I have been in the business a long time, I am very good and know what I can do and if things are in my skill level and will refer people to other better suited pros.
