Charlie designed my new custom 3000 sq ft home with matching unattached garage/garage apartment and tool shed. I was totally satisfied with his work. He understood exactly what I wanted with very little explanation required on my part plus he added many small but vital details which I would never have thought of on my own - I especially like what he did to make great use of previous dead spaces I had included. He also provided several substantial changes which I requested at the last minute which required to be expedited: he got them done on time and exactly as I requested, all of the above for a very reasonable price.
I will definitely use Charlie again when I am ready to build my next project.– Billy

Charlie Smith helped my firm develop one of the very first 5-Star green homes approved by the City of Austin's Energy Department. A. We do all types of building designs, from custom homes, to spec. homes for builders, remodels, out door living, commercial designs, space planing and site analysis

A. Does it matter what gender the designer is when designing my home?
The gender of a home designer isn't what makes one home designer better than another. C.F. Smith Designs believes it's the designers experience, knowledge, attention to detail and their listening skills. Charlie doesn't claim he's the best home designer in Central Texas- that's up to you to decide.
One more thing. Charlie designs "On the Spot." He will design for your lot or you can pick a previously designed home plan and he'll modify it to work for you.
