Introduction: Let's get that instrument out and get you closer to your musical goals! Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned player, I have the teaching and performance experience to help you meet your goals. Lessons are open to all, regardless of age or ability level. As a certified Suzuki teacher, I have taught violin and viola for 10 years serving students ages 3 - 75 (yes, you read that correctly). I strive to make lessons stimulating, engaging, and fun. Based in my belief that music is a way to enrich your life and cultivate a creative outlet, I will walk alongside you to find creative solutions unique to you, and get you playing the music you love! Lessons include a personalized weekly "workout" with your instrument specifically tailored for you to meet your goals. Thank you for inviting me on your musical journey! Rachel Daniels is one of the best viola teachers I have ever had. In addition to being a wonderful violist, she is a kind, patient, and caring teacher who passes her enthusiasm to all of her students. She makes her lessons fun and interesting, while focusing on each student’s specific needs. My playing improved by leaps and bounds during the time I studied with her. I looked forward to every lesson with her. I throughly recommend Rachel as a violin/viola teacher to students of all ages and abilities.

We loved our experience with Miss Rachel! She taught with compassion and consistency while encouraging my son to push himself to work hard at learning violin. Her communication was excellent which is important to me as a busy parent. Rachel set a great foundation for him and he has fallen in love with violin, performing with several orchestras. I can't thank her enough for teaching him to love making music!

I loved everything about working with Rachel! Rachel is not only an amazing educator but a kind-hearted and supportive individual that goes beyond her job description. She truly loves what she does and since working with her I haven't found a private teacher like her. Viola teachers are sometimes hard to come by and Rachel's knowledge is outstanding. Still today, I incorporate exercises and techniques that she shared with me. Rachel is the perfect balance of teaching skill on the instrument, but also expression. Besides my own lessons, I also briefly witnessed how Rachel works with students younger than me. She works with students of any level very well because of her caring nature. She is also just super fun to be around as well, so her lessons are very welcoming and enjoyable. In the time I spent working with her, as a musician that had be playing for awhile, I learned an immense amount of new knowledge regarding everything from shifting to tone quality that very much elevated my playing. Miss Rachel is an amazing viola teacher. She was able to meet with my son in person or virtually(if needed) and was always punctual. She took the time to get to know my son and helped him gain confidence and technique in playing viola. I would highly recommend her to friends.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Lessons are $75 for 45 minutes. I offer a 5% discount for booking at hour lesson, at $95/hour. Further discounts are given to students of qualifying Texas school districts who are seeking lessons through their orchestra program.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My first priority is implementing an individualized plan for each of my students. Together, we will identify your goals and make an action plan to get there. I'll focus on addressing any technique issues and/or developing the foundations of solid technique that keeps your body healthy and supports your best playing. I'll also find a way to incorporate the joy and fun of music making from the bat by involving music that moves you. Are you dying to play the theme from Schindler's List, "The Devil Went Down to Georgia", or Vivaldi's Spring? Let's do it!
