Writer/editor with 15 years experience in working from home for clients large and small. Primary niche has been reproductive medicine and other consumer health topics. A former social worker, I'm well-versed in all topics related to human development and families, including parenting, psychology, medicine. I've written for everything from tiny start-ups to established national corporations, and I'm happy to have repeat customers who've been ringing my phone for a decade. While I'll dutifully write in your voice, or your CEO's voice, or whomever else you require, many clients turn me loose and enjoy my conversational tone -- it's your call. We're all just telling stories. How you write them is the key to getting them read.

I've been asking Tracy to do a fair amount of writing lately and I'm impressed by her speediness and ability to "get" the assignment from the start and deliver a great product. I almost never have revisions and when I do they are very minor. She has a great style and is very open to revisions (although I rarely have them). She has a lot of experience in my industry abut I have no doubt she could quickly grasp a project in any industry.

Question and answer

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Recognize the difference in value that a long-time, freelance writer brings to your project or gig. As with many services, you get what you pay for with writers. There's nothing wrong with being tight-budgeted, but curb your expectations accordingly.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Yes, I really do write in my PJ's sometimes. But I promise to dress appropriately if we meet in person or via Skype. Of course, that may be more a "secret to share" about me and not so much about every other writer.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. What turn-around time will you commit to in writing?
How and when do you preferred to be paid?
How many drafts & revisions are included in your fee?
What kill fee do you find appropriate?
