FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Mostly, I do graphic work - layout design. My two largest clients are magazines. For each, I layout the magazine on a monthly basis - anywhere from 32-56 pages. For one, I am also editor, approving and editing all content, writing, and other additional duties. I also layout individual print ads and do some social networking.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Have all the information ready, such as: type of graphic job (brochure, magazine, print/web ad); deadlines/time frames; do you want assistance with the printing process - finding a printer (I offer access to one with no additional mark up on my side, though there are charges if I do any kind of print proofing); number of pages/size; and other specifications. Have files ready - graphics provided in requested file formats (most often - JPG (general graphic), EPS (Adobe Illustrator), or PSD (Adobe PhotoShop)). Understand that these files MUST be in high resolution (minimum 300 dpi) to work with printed materials - and even best to use high resolution to start with for web/electronic use. Ask questions of the designer and check out what they've done in the past. Most will have a "style" and if you don't like what they've done in the past - the relationship might not go so well. Provide examples of things you like - AND - things you don't like.
