A. Check their portfolio. Ask for examples of sites they have done but instead of getting just the URL, ask for the SEARCH TERMS they optimized for.
After all, if they did their job right, you should be able to type the search term into GOOGLE and find their site right?
That is what we do.
A. Search Engine Optimization is key to any online presence for a business. Think about when the last time you used "the yellow book" vs the last time you did an internet search for something.
Then think about the fact that everyone carries a web enabled device (or more) with them and search instantly with them.
You can see why being on the first or second page of a search is extremely important to a business.
A. Ask for examples of their work, what search terms you need to type into the search engines to find that work.
Ask what search engines they optimize for, what social networking experience they have and link building.
A. Their target audience...who are their customers and what would they type into a search engine to find their service or products?
What area are they able to operate in? Is it local, nationwide or global?
Are they wanting a 2011 Ferrari for their vehicle but only can afford a used VW Beetle from 1969? If so, they need to re-evaluate things.
