Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. We believe that the furnishings and accessories should be "attention directing", not "attention getting", so we'll help you to redefine your furnished home, or your unfurnished home so that HAR.com features what you're selling (your house), and not your decorating (your furnishings).
We boast the broadest portfolio of quickly sold properties in Houston. Our website has many videos of our installations (past and present), and we're constantly updating our inventory.
Our vacant staging packages are offered for a flat-fee 120 day lease period. Extensions are available, but are rarely necessary. We hope to provide you with the concierge service that you'll need, so that you turn your listing quickly, and for more money!

Q. Describe three recent jobs you've completed.
A. We recently staged a vacant $1.7 Milliion dollar mansion that had accrued nearly two years of selling/market time. The home went under contract within days of the staging!
We delivered an effective staging package (including furniture, artwork, accessories and greenery) within a very modest budget. So, you see, home staging doesn't need to be costly to be valuable.

Houston Home Staging ... a moving experience!
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Houston Home Staging... a moving experience!
We boast a wide range of quickly sold homes in our portfolio. You should ask your home staging provider about their success stories and their failures.
Although we've had great success, we've also had a couple of duds ! We're not embarrased about stagings that didn't-do-the-job. We've learned from them, and mostly what we learned, was to not take every job that is offered.
If your condition issues aren't addressed, there is no amount of staging in the world that can overcome those challenges.
We are experienced stagers, and you benefit from our success and from our challenges.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. Home Staging is a what-you-see, is-what-you-get profession!
*Your home staging professional should be able to provide you with photographs of the merchandise they'll be using in your home staging.
*Your home staging professional should be able to provide you with statistics and examples of their work.
*Your home staging professional is not a Realtor, or an Interior Designer (although both professions offer great influence on the final home staging result). Home stagers, have a very specific skill set, and the really good home stagers don't need to supplement their salaries with secondary careers (no offense to the Realtors and Decorators )!
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. Our Lead Designer (Tom Scanlon ASP) boasts an impresssive resume. A turn-around specialist, Tom's skills have been sought after by such companies as Yves Saint Laurent (where he worked in Paris, New York, and Philadelphia).
Marshall's and TJMaxx also benefited from Tom's merchandising skills as he travelled up and down the East Coast correcting troubled stores, and directing new-store openings (including Marshall's Plaza De Armas store in San Juan Puerto Rico).
Tom's staging skills were put to the test in both residential and commercial settings. His own homes have always sold quickly and for top dollar when staged. His Lake Shore Drive/Chicago condominium set the record for price when it sold. His Bucks County Pennsylvania homes, also sold very quickly, even in difficult financial times.
Tom is an Accredited Staging Professional, who has received personal tutelage from Stagehome(dot)com's President and Founder: Barb Schwarz!
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. Our customers often ask if we make homes pretty!
Actually, no we don't make homes pretty, we make homes sell!
A home is where you live, and a house is what you sell. So, home staging techniques are very, very, different from interior design techniques.
Many times, it's not what we bring to a staging that makes the difference. Sometimes, it's not what we bring, it's what we have the good taste - to leave out!
In music, the unplayed note, can be as important as the played note! It's the same in home staging! We need to see your house, not your stuff. So, with just a $145 consultation, we'll edit out your stuff, to make your house the "MUST SEE" house, and not just the "WELL, WE WERE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD"
Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.
A. It's hard to pick any single job that we're most proud of. We generally like the most recent job that we've done, because it's always a good example of what we've learned from the previous jobs!
Our visual merchandising techniques aren't the result of talent, they are the hard-earned result of years of training by some of the world's top merchandisers, retailers, and real estate professionals.
Our $145 consultations are an excellent investment. Think of a consultation as an 'ASSURANCE POLICY'.

Tom is the former Vice President of the International Association of Home Staging Professionals (Houston Chapter)!
