FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, we will get you set up for a meet and greet so that we can meet with you and your pets and home in person. This allows us to go over all of your specific needs and obtain the necessary details and contact info while you're away. We will also pick up keys to your property at this time.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a former Vet Assistant, Student, and Dog Trainer. I know signs of dogs in distress in addition to being able to react quickly to distress. My dog training education provides me with the necessary skills to handle pups of all shapes, sizes, temperaments, etc. I have worked with dogs professionally since 1993. I have worked alongside Trainers, Breeders, Rescue Organizers, Veterinarians, and have learned a valuable education from each. My Husband has been working professionally with Dogs since 2002. In 2005 he was a professional mobile pet groomer before joining me as a full-time pet sitter in 2006. We are not breed prejudice and don't shy away from breeds that most folks might.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My love of animals has been since my first memories. I was an entrepreneur type of kid and started offering dog walking services as soon as someone would take me seriously and give me a chance. My very first client was a Harlequin Great Dane named, Ichabod. I cared for him for 3 summers (1993, 1994, 1995) in a row while his owners took their annual vacation. My second more regular client was Callahan, a black lab. I tended to her weekly for various type of sits like Dog Walking, or just regular pet sitting when her owners had long day outings or went on vacation or late date nights/weekends. I knew early on pets were going to be my life's work and here I am 25 years later still making a living caring for and providing for pets and their people. My Husband joined "Team Pet Obsessed" 17 years ago when we married. :) Haha
