My husband and I have hired Darin for many jobs around the house. We have always been satisfied with his work and his reasonable prices. The most recent job was redoing the flooring in our master bathroom. Not only was the work completed in 1 day, but we are extremely happy with the quality! We will continue to use him for future work on our house.

Question and answer

Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Repairs and remodeling. Those catigories are the most common, followed by flooring and painting.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Get to know the person you are going to hire, before you hire them! The contractor you choose should be honest, reliable, and professional. Some contractors are only out there to make a quick buck. I take pride in my work and customer satisfaction is my top priority.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Customers may not know just how difficult a job can be until it's too late. I often explain my work process to the customer so they have a better understanding of what has to be done. If the customer has a question about a DIY project, I provide necessary information and tips to ensure their project turns out great.

Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?

A. The first question that always comes to mind is, "How much experience does this person have?" Another question might be, "Does this person have references?" And finally, "Does this person have proof of his work?" You can never ask too many questions, especially when you are looking to hire someone to work on your home.

Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?

A. Plan a budget and get multiple estimates. Remember, the lowest bidder isn't always the best choice. Quality work isn't cheap, but it can be affordable!

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. My attention to detail. My father taught me that even if the customer doesn't notice the little things, it still matters.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. The customers reaction when the job is complete. It feels great to hear compliments from everyone who I've provided a service to. It all comes down to customer satisfaction and making them happy.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. "How much do you charge for ______?" The answer isn't always a flat rate, so first I set up an appointment to take a look at the project. Next, I research local pricing to ensure I provide a fair bid. Third, I write up a detailed estimate and send it to the customer.

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. I currently work full time for a local Sheriff's Office and operate Romnes Remodeling on my days off.

Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.

A. A customer had a grease fire on the stove. The upper cabinets caught fire. The customer was able to extinguish the fire, but the cabinets were badly damaged. I refinished and replaced sections of the cabinets to make them look like new again. The job turned out great and everyone was happy!
