I had Tom and his nephew come and install a garden shed for me, destined to become a chicken coop. They were efficient, clever, and they put up with my engineer husband's interference. They even offered to cut some of their fee for the time he took, but I insisted on paying them. Their time is their time!! However--while this ad shows their hourly rate at $60 it is in fact $80 (they are worth it). Their office help is a little slow and communication is a little limited there. Lastly, they make appointments way in advance but there is no confirmation the day/night before. (She's in the "office," she could call!) I missed them today due to a crisis with a horse out back, so I did not hear the phone. When I called, 30 minutes past their 930 appointment, the office girl was pretty snippy and condescending. They were off on another job (funny, when I tried to be included in a "if someone cancels" list, I was told they do not do that.... I guess they lined one up pretty fast! I would have paid them from the time they would have started the job, had I heard the phone (just like when the engineer had them hauling dirt to level the ground, lol), but after the attitude on the phone with the girl, I'll look elsewhere. I do think if you can get past her and never have any crises interfere with your ability to get to the door to let them in as soon as they arrive, you are good to go. The work was very good. (LOL, I tried to hire them for another job a month or so ago, but the girl said they were "skilled craftsmen" and I wouldn't want to pay them to do this particular task--I suspect they'd do better if she were more efficient and maybe a little smarter, lol.)

We have hired Tom for many home fixing projects, small and large. He is trustworthy, and always does a great job. Very creative problem solver, and he does everything the right way, so it doesn't break again or cause other problems. Always gives us a more than fair price too. So happy we found Tom! He's been a lifesaver.

Tom has done many projects for me,replaced tile in two of my baths,wall papered two baths,built a 16'x18'ceder pergola on my back porch,repaired and texture sheet rock in my kitchen.he is a great person and a excellent craftsman!! He told me how much it would be,and that is exactly what I payed. I will use him from now on! He is a wery trust worthy person,I am so glad I found him

I hired Tom to replace a rear entry door. He did exceptional work and I will use his service again. I highly recommend him to do any repair you need done. I have already contracted him to do another needed repair and look forward to working with him.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My rate is:$40.00 per hour. A one time trip fee of $25.00 for example; if the job takes 3 trips to complete, the cost would onley be $25.00 (one trip fee) I do not mark up materials go over work with home owner,only when they are satisified,payment due on on completion. 10% discont- for senior citizens,10% for veterans-active military,if a job(such as a remodle) i will give you estamate on the labor cost,instead of hourly rate,same on all projects more than 2 day long,in most cases.
