kevin - one of the best experiences with contractors that i ever had. most of the time prior to the complete roof job, i was extremely anxious about the potential for damage or at worse a poor job. the crew were efficient and professional. the sales rep., kevin swain was with me every step of the way to assure me that the job would be done to the best of their ability. it was better than best. thanks again kevin for a job well done. you truly care. bill - irving, texas

I've worked with Roof Time Contractors for years and on many jobs. They've been excellent to work with in terms of quality, timeliness, and price. I would highly recommend their services.

Question and answer
Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. Composition roofs. Your typical 30 year shingle.
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Check providers BBB and personal references. Ask for a customer that had an issue. Such as a leak. Was it handled? Was the warranty honored. That is most important in our industry. There are always issues. Your representative and company that stands behind their work is peace of mind.
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. Materials and labor costs usually account for 2/3 of every job regardless of what company. The other third is profit and overhead. That is the portion that the company has to promote and sustain its business. A large amount of that portion pays for us to have liability insurance and work mans comp.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. I treat all of my customers how I would like to be treated! Willie Nelson gave a tip of how to be successful to Pat Green. No matter if you play in front of 20 people or 20,000 people give your best. So no matter if I am doing a job for $6,000 or $60,000 my quality of work does not waiver.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. Freedom to manage and service my customers with personal attention. Meeting new people and new opportunities everyday.
Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A. Other than price related questions, How long is it going to take to finish. Most residential jobs finish in one day. Of course depending on size of house. Most composition roofs even if they are very large two days. The larger the project the larger the crew.
What is the best shingle? That question is similar to what is the best car made. In my experience (6 years and over 500 roofs) quality tends to change over the course of a year or two. I would have to say the most consistent manufacturer would be GAF/ELK.
Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?
A. My second year in the industry I was working in Austin Texas. The 05 storm. Being from D/FW I was not familiar with area and getting the first customer is important. I sold the job cheap. Real cheap. ($10 profit, by accident!)To get in the neighborhood. It was a culdesac. I sold 4 other roofs on that culdesac. The last roof on the corner enjoyed working with me so much that he invited me to come play basketball with him on Mondays in a warehouse of a furniture store. His friend owned the warehouse. Well after about 3 weeks of playing basketball with them his friend let me replace his roof on his house. Then his duplex rental property. Then the warehouse! The moral of my story is good service, good price, more referrals, more business!
