FAQs
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
First, potential clients need to know webdesign is not a product, as in buying a car. It is a valuable service for your business or organization. Secondly, all Thumbtack vendors PAY a fee to submit any bid without any guarantee of success. And the basic client provided information on Thumbtack is very inadequate for determining the client's needs (Example: Need a website). I am happy to submit a bid, but only after the client provides additional information. (1) Please provide the URL of two or three websites you like. (2) What do you like about them? (3) Do you want eCommerce? (4) Credit card transactions? (5) Content Management so you can add and change comments without assistance? (6) Mass email marketing/newsletters? (7) Social media? (8) Hosting support? (9) Updates and how often? (10) Do you already have a domain name and if so do you want the vendor who sold it to you to provide your hosting? (11) Who is that vendor? (12) What kind of business or organization? (13) Are the images you provide your own or are there copyright issues? (14) Do you use or plan to use model releases? (15) Social Media? (16) YouTube? (17) What's your favorite color (yes that's important too)? A lot of these questions will probably be answered when you answer the first two. There will be many web designers who will dream up any price without knowing what you really need. You probably won't be satisfied with their results. I want your business as soon as I know your needs. Best wishes.
