Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.

A. Small "micro-contracting" jobs involving repairs to their homes that the homeowner either doesn't want to do themselves, doesn't know how to do or would prefer a professional to handle.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Look for someone that will be honest with you. If they are willing to tell you anything you want to hear, just so that you will hire them, odds are that they are more interested in the money than doing a good job. Another thing is to always ask for references, a company that does well will always have plenty of people willing to say so.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. Integrity, Skill, Attention to Detail and Pride in my work.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. A question I am commonly asked is, "why do your services cost so much less?" My answer; "My business overhead is considerably less than that of my competitors. I don't pay tens of thousands of dollars a year in advertising because the quality of my services is sufficient to create a great deal of "word of mouth" advertising. The amount that I charge for my services is sufficient to support the business as well as it's growth."

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Continuing education is required in many fields and home repairs is no exception. There are many new products available on a regular basis that allow us to provide the highest quality work on your project and staying on top of what those new developments are is one of the keys to our success.

Q. If you have a complicated pricing system for your service, please give all the details here.

A. Artisans Home Repair is a Time and Materials based company. This means that the customer only pays for services that are done for them in their home and only pays for the exact time it takes to get the job done. There is a one hour minimum of $100.00 and after that billing is $75.00 an hour, split into 15 minute increments so if our tech only works for 2 hours and 15 minutes on your project then you are only paying for 2 hours and 15 minutes. Materials are all billed as line items on the invoice so you can see exactly what you are paying for and can see that there isn't any hidden fees or price gouging. We pride ourselves on being as helpful and honest as possible with our customers.
