Survey findings and summary
Thumbtack.com, in partnership with the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, has released the new results from the second annual Thumbtack.com Small Business Survey. The 2013 study draws upon data from over 7,000 small business owners nationwide and shows that San Antonio earned an 'A+' from local small business owners. The city scored high marks for its business-friendly regulations and its excellent training and networking programs.
Some of the key findings for San Antonio include:
- San Antonio earned an 'A+' for its business-friendly employment and labor rules and an 'A+' for its tax code. In addition to its overall 'A+' grade, San Antonio earned an 'A' for the quality and availability of its training and networking programs for small businesses.
- Besides earning an 'A' from small businesses, Texas was home to 4 of the top ten US cities: Austin (#1), Houston (#3), San Antonio (#5) and Dallas-Ft. Worth (#7). The state also ranked 7th in the nation for the quality of its online business resources.
