Big Red went above and beyond. I had a chandelier and outdoor ceiling fan installed. He was on time and very accommodating. He even touched up the paint on my ceiling. Great work and he really knows what he is doing. I'm feel so lucky to have found him.

Just to let everyone know, they a minimum charge of $200 for any electric repair. This was not discussed to me before they came out and charged me a $30 diagnostic fee. That is the reason for the 3 stars. I feel like the minimum amount should be disclosed up front so that is why I’m leaving it in this review.

Details: Electrical not functioning normally • 8 - 10 feet (standard ceiling) • House

Big Red Electric's reply
Yes, We charge a $30 fee for an estimate, BEFORE we even called or texted or had any communication about your project I quoted you $300. to fix the circuit feeding your microwave,(that would cover replacing a smart breaker and dedicated device) that service work would've waived the 30 diagnostic fee. I also helped troubleshoot your problem over messaging, ( had you try to plug it in on another circuit to see if you had a bad microwave and try resetting the breaker) we then scheduled and rescheduled(at your convience) a time to dispatch a licensed electrician to your home. He verified that your circuit was in servicable condition, and recommended a replacing the appliance. After you purchased your appliance you wanted to know a price for installation. when I told you a price of 200, you informed me that our price was too high, that was when i finally charged you the diagnostic fee. I was willing to lower the price if you were going to have us perform more electrical work during the same visit. The $30 fee is advertised on thumbtack as a going towards the total invoice (in this case $200) why would I discuss a minimum amount when I quoted a number exceeding that before we even communicated over the phone or text. Just to let everyone know Thumbtack charges contractors $30+ just to get in contact with customers. Whether they answer the phone or not. If you think a Good Electrician is expensive, you would be SHOCKED to see how much a Bad Electrician can cost!
